ReTouch collaborates with healthcare supporting people struggling with touch deprivation/aversion to learn confidence skills so they can experience touch!
To touch and be touched is a basic, essential human need. Without it, we cannot explore what it truly means to connect -- to see and be seen. The need for touch is the need for connection, and the need to connect is at the root of the human experience. I have learned, both personally and professionally, that most people have three main experiences around the self and touch:

I walk out of the Majestic Tower apartments … just above the theatre after a pro cuddle session and while I wait for the Uber to arrive w my client, we hear a commotion.
We look down Houston St & see red, green, black & white. Palestinian flags. 🇵🇸
There’s a march coming upon us. No more Uber down Houston I guess. lol.
I ask my client, do you have a strong opinion about this, and he says, no.
And as I sit there watching, I’m called to march w them. I wanted to feel the energy of their passion & message.
I tell my client, I’m jumping in. And he says, I’ll go with you!
We join them.
A marcher thanks us … seeing that we just joined in & probably sticking out as sore thumbs. That was a sweet gesture of them.
I listen. I look at the people esp the older/elderly Muslim, presumably Palestinian women. I wonder what their stories are.
We make it to the courthouse & we depart from the group. I get my Uber & head home.
It definitely felt like a Forrest Gump moment. In life, just jump in. Experience it. Don’t ask questions. Feel it.

I met this fabulous instructor of the Wheel of Consent , Carmen!
She brought her unique perspective & insight into the wheel by decolonizing it within a trauma informed lens. I love it!
She had us consider how Embodiment and Consent is a privilege… and one that I’d like to create more access to for YOU to access with me!
