I get to work with my mom and brother everyday. I also get to bring my kids to our building. It definitely has its challenges. Working alongside family, trying to be present with my children while also taking care of business and meeting deadlines. We have high highs and low lows. But we’ve been doing this for so many years now and have worked through so many challenges, things finally feel like they’re steadily on the up and up.

One of the hardest parts of creating girls’ products is the standard of clean we hold ourselves to. For example, we found this GORGEOUS iridescent blue for a cream eyeshadow that has a low rating on EWG and is considered safe for eyes, but it’s not safe for lips. So any other clean makeup brand would have approved it. HOWEVER, even though it’s going into a cream for eyes, some little girlies might put it on their lips. So, we’re trying to recreate it with pigments that are safe for eyes AND lips. It’s so hard!! Basically going beyond clean standards for cosmetics and making sure all of our products are food-grade safe. Safe for play, good enough to eat, because our girlies deserve the best and our moms shouldn’t have to worry.
