Dear Chargers Family and Community,

I want to take a moment to share a deeply personal story that has shaped my life and my commitment to raising awareness about domestic violence.

When I was 12 years old, I was eagerly waiting for my aunt, Tamera Smith, to pick me up for a team bonding bonfire with my fellow Mira Mesa Chargers cheerleaders. My aunt, who was just 17 years old at the time, was someone I looked up to. She never arrived that night, and for days we searched for her, hoping for the best but fearing the worst.

Tragically, we later learned that her boyfriend had taken her life. My world changed forever, and I’ve carried that loss with me every day since. As a former Charger cheerleader, and now as a cheer coach and team mom for my son’s football team, I feel an even deeper connection to our community and a responsibility to do everything I can to raise awareness about the dangers of domestic violence.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and it’s a time to reflect on the lives lost and the survivors who continue to face the long road of recovery. In honor of my aunt and all those affected, the Mira Mesa Chargers 9U Football Team is collecting toiletries and canned goods for local victims of domestic violence. These donations will go to survivors in need of immediate support as they work to rebuild their lives.

Growing up in , I was often one of the only Black girls in my class. It wasn’t always easy, but it shaped me into the strong, proud woman I am today. Now, stepping back onto my old high school football field and being surrounded by so many little ladies who look like me, I can’t help but feel grateful for the journey. This community holds a special place in my heart, and seeing the power and beauty we bring to the field is something I’ll never take for granted. Ps.im missing at least 3 more girls 🌟✨

After many successful years in Mission Valley, I have decided it is time for a change of scenery. My new space in Spring Valley will allow me to better serve your beauty needs with more room and updated amenities.

The new salon will be located at 9239 Campo Rd .We will have a grand opening celebration on September 3rd to showcase the renovated space. I hope you will stop by and see what I've been working on!
