In the moment 👀 Correia asked me if I would be open to cutting Leilani’s hair after she colored her hair during our Curl Academy class in Baltimore It was an immediate “YES!” It’s is not lost on me how much trust is involved in our daily interactions 🙏🏼 The day had already kicked off with a collaboration between Correia and Leyla who styled Leilani together, so I tapped into Leyla’s sensibilities to participate in the cut along with me. Such a fun time collaborating with 2 friends 😇

To quote KyAuna “I went to Aaron because his work reflected people that look like me.” That is just to get someone in the door 👀 What is the overall experience like? Were you heard, seen, respected and taken care of? Anyone can entice folks to come once, it’s another thing entirely to build trust over time to partner up and truly collaborate. I’m so happy KyAuna said “YES!” immediately when I asked her if she would like to participate as a cut/style model for my last class in San Diego. She took the role of educating an audience of salon professionals on how she chooses to spend her dollars and we all listened ☝🏼
