Our last day on Friday in Florence Bonnie and I did some solo activities in the morning…she went to the Uffizi Museum and I wandered around exploring the city…before we crossed the Arno River and walked to the Piazzale Michelangelo for absolutely stunning views of the city and surrounding areas. These pictures do not capture what my eyes saw…the landscape is GORGEOUS with the city, the dome and the green, lush hills in the background. I treated myself to a Tuscan style steak and asparagus for dinner and we were treated to a beautiful full moon shining on the cathedral as we walked back to our monastery. Epic trip, epic last night❤️

Wonderful first full day in Riomaggiore. We walked around the village and then after a couple of short rain showers the sun came out and we headed up the hill to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Montenero. The views on the way up and at the top did not disappoint! So much beauty here everywhere you turn. We were treated to another epic sunset and cocktails at the end of the day…perfecto❤️🇮🇹

Left Venice at 10:40am and it only took 4 trains and 8 hours to reach Riomaggiore in the Cinque Terre! I have wanted to come here for over 20 years and this amazing sunset was waiting for us as we got off the train! Bonnie treated me to a wonderful birthday dinner and dessert! Can’t wait to explore this magical land for the next 4 days❤️🇮🇹

Rainy day in Venice couldn’t spoil our fun! Bonnie went to the Guggenheim and I went to the Scuala, which is dubbed as the Sistine Chapel of Venice…stunning! And how could we not see A Haunting in Venice…while in Venice!!! Great movie! We ended the night at “our” restaurant…we ate here three nights in a row and has so much fun with our wonderful waitress Rosa…she gave us limoncello tonight! Tomorrow we travel all day to get to Riomaggiore in the Cinque Terre. We are sad to leave Venice…it is an amazing city with so much charm but excited for our next adventure ❤️🇮🇹
