Mermaid Maker
Expert Colorist specializing in uniquely tailored and adventurous haircolor Hi! I'm Amelia, but my friends and guests know me best as Violet.

A nickname I picked up in beauty school and speaks directly to my love of everything colorful and bright. I'm an Expert Colorist working at Santo Tomas Collective in Old Town San Diego. My passion and speciality is creating uniquely tailored and adventurous colors for each and every guest who sits in my chair. Whether that be bright tones that would make Lisa Frank green with envy, or soft blended

Idk about y’all, but fall always makes me want to do something dark and vampy with my hair. I’ll just have to live vicariously through ’s gorgeous mane.

BLACK LIVES MATTER

I’m feeling a myriad of emotions. Sadness, horror, anger. But it doesn’t matter how I feel.

I’ll never be able to truly understand what it means to live the experiences of Black and People of Color in America.
I vow to use my position of privilege to stand for you, defend you, and further educate myself and others.

From day one, the foundation of my studio is to create a safe space for everyone. A space to express yourself, mourn, have challenging conversations, and build connection. I’ll never compromise this space by letting hate or discrimination come through these doors.

This business hears you, sees you, stands with you and loves you.

Thank you so much for your patience while I get all my ducks in a row!

I’ll be sending out text messages starting now, it might take me a few days to get all the way through my list.

I can’t wait until we can smize at each other soon! @ Violet The Stylist

🙅🏻‍♀️ Closed for business 🙅🏻‍♀️
Words I never thought I would have to say.

For the safety of beautiful clients, myself, and by state mandate, the doors to my business will be closed until further notice. I have no idea how long this closer will last, but I know it will be for the greater good in the long haul.

If you have an appointment with me in the next few weeks, I’ll be contacting you as soon as I have an idea of when I can get back to work. I’m keeping track of who had an appointment when and keeping those of you who had appointments this week and next as first priority when booking.

Please please please, resist the urge to color or cut your own hair in this time. I know it may seem like a quick fix, but my color correction prices stand and it’s not going to be worth it in the long run. 😂

These are crazy times, especially for small business owners. If you’re in a position to, please consider supporting your local small businesses right now, so when we all rise above this your favorite small businesses are still able to provide the quality goods and services you love.

Here’s a few ways you can help support my business that would make a huge impact: • Share some of my favorite works on your social media and with friends
• Write a Review: Yelp, Facebook, etc. positive reviews help with exposure and help drive new business when I’m able to reopen
• Purchase a Gift Card (link in bio) for future use or to give as a gift to a loved one.
• Purchase haircare to get delivered straight to your door. I’m happy to recommend some new products, come up with a custom regiment, or even get you a refill on what you love. Buying online through the link in my bio will help to support my business while the Stay at Home order is in place.

I love this career and every person who has supported me through the years and continues to support me through this. Let’s stay home, protect the safety and health of our loved ones and get through this. I can’t wait to give you a big hug and swap stories when this is all over ❤️

As a small business owner who’s income relies completely on my work one on one with my incredible clients, uncertain times like this can be scary. There are so many industries that are in a similar boat who can’t make a living if they’re not able to work in person with customers. The world is a little crazy right now, but I’m choosing to stay positive and make sure I support my local small businesses as much as I can.

If you’re wanting to support local small businesses but are concerned about social distancing, here’s a few things you can do without leaving the comfort of your home:

* Shout Them Out: Signal boost posts by your favorite small businesses to encourage others to support them by partaking in their goods and services. (I’ve tagged a few of my favorites in the post above)
* Buy Gift Cards: Nearly every small business (including mine, link in bio 🤗) has an online option to purchase a gift card for future use. This helps to ensure that the small business you love is able to keep up with operating costs and will still be standing when we rise through trying times.
* Buy Online: if they have goods available online that you can get delivered directly to you, take advantage! I’m passionate about creating beautiful hair at home every day, and I’m lucky enough to partner with a brand that has created an online storefront that will deliver your favorite products straight to your door. Not sure exactly what you’ll need, or want to switch it up a bit? Send me a text and I’d love to create a custom regimen that will be perfect for your individual needs and hair type.

I get to work day in and day out with some of the most incredible clients. Thank you so much for your continued support throughout the years. And remember to wash your hands ☺️❤️

OPEN FOR BUSINESS

These times are crazy, there’s no doubt about that. But please rest assured that as always, my clients’ health and safety as well as my own, are my TOP priority. Amit recent health concerns, I’ve been doubling down on my already strict sanitation regimen to keep the studio a comfortable, clean and safe place to relax and unwind.

I ask that if you’re feeling slightly under the weather, (or have been in close contact with someone who has) that you reschedule your appointment. For the time being, I’ll be waving my cancelation fee for illness related cancelations and reschedules. If you come to an appointment showing signs of illness, I will ask that you reschedule for a later date. New hair is amazing, but it’s not worth risking either of our health over.

I’m happy to be completely healthy, keeping my normal schedule and would love to have the opportunity to help you relax and unwind ❤️

💥 The Ben Mollin Project 💥

First class of the year and it set the bar HIGH. I thought I was going into a weekend that would help me build my confidence as a educator and get quality time with new and old friends. I could have never been prepared for how amazing would really be.

, , and created a safe space for us to be ourselves even when it seemed terrifying. Taught us the magic that can happen when we stretch so far out of our comfort zones to unlock creativity. And held up a mirror to the resiliency that lives inside of each and every one of us.

• If you’re an educator who’s been thinking about taking Tier One, RUN to sign up right now.
• If you’re a creative entrepreneur looking for tools to help spread your businesses’ message in an authentic and meaningful way, take Tier One ASAP!
• If you’ve been looking for a way to push yourself out of your comfort zone to become the most impactful, honest version of yourself, take this class.

I’m not kidding when I say EVERYONE can benefit greatly from spending time with Ben and taking the course he’s so thoughtfully and skillfully crafted.

I’m beyond grateful for this opportunity and so proud of every single person who had the honor of laughing, crying, screaming and dancing along side this weekend ❤️ @ Kansas City, Missouri
