Although I pride myself in practicing the highest sanitation standards, doing makeup applications at the moment are just not worth putting myself or others at risk of contracting COVID. I’ve, unfortunately, had to cancel on clients due to exposure risk, and I’ve faced uncomfortable situations where clients are taking little to zero precautions themselves which I can no longer tolerate.

So, I’m putting away my professional kit for a while and I will be focusing on social media. I see the sudden growth in views and followers on IG as a clear indication from the Universe as to where I should be directing my energy right now.

Thanks so much for understanding. I’ll let you know when (or if) I open up my calendar again.

The last week of 2021 was so exciting! As of 12:00 pm 1/1/22, a random reel I made has reached 7 Million views and a handful of you have decided to follow 😊 So, I wanted to welcome all of you and the new year with a dedicated post!

🐰 My name is Mariel, I’m 36, from San Diego (originally from Tijuana), I work at and I’m a part-time MUA. I’ve been creating cruelty-free and vegan beauty content since a year or two after going vegan almost 8 years ago. I went vegan because I was sick and tired of dealing with my persistent cystic acne (since age 14) and my mental health had been destroyed after a decade+ of high-protein yo-yo dieting. I also realized how much animal agriculture was harming the environment and how the makeup brands I used contributed to the unnecessary cruelty towards hundreds of thousands of bunnies, mice and guinea pigs each year.

🌱 Going vegan was one of the best decisions I made in my life because it has been so healing for me physically and emotionally. It made me reconsider everything. I am by far a perfect vegan but, that’s not my goal. My goal is to reduce harm and help others realize that it only takes a few changes to do the same.

🔮Hopefully, you’ll keep enjoying my content and stick around to learn more. This boost in views has reignited my interest in social media, and I’ll be rebooting my YouTube channel because of it.
