赤伶 has arrived.

The final act in our limited-edition China trilogy, 赤伶 is inspired by the legend of a Chinese opera performer commanded by invading soldiers to perform in his hometown theatre. He took the stage — holding the performance long enough for the villagers to escape before locking the theatre from within and setting it ablaze, his final act one of resistance.

赤伶 translates that story into scent: ceremonial powder beneath stage light, a lacquer-red mouth held still behind a golden fan, bitter mandarin and saffron like the flare of a struck match, black tea darkening in the wings, bruised red florals, incense smoke, and lacquered guaiac wood.
