This lovely lady is Glenda, and is the whole inspiration of my career in hair.( forever grateful) 🙏We met when I was in art school and she was my cut&colorist. The best!! She did all the fun, crazy, funky colors i wanted in my hair, in my 20s.

When I was at a crossroads in my life she guided me into the best career choice, I could ever as for. I always wanted to do something creative, but being behind a computer all day, doing design wasn't it for me. So I dropped out of art school.

She explained to me how creative,fun and rewarding doing hair can be. She saw in me that I had a passion for hair and creativity, so I went back to beauty school. I had completed half of it, while in high school. "beauty school drop out" 😆

What I thought was somthing to learn, as a back up plan, became the light of my life. It all clicked! I get to make people feel beautiful, paint& cut hair, make my own schedule, be my own boss. Wow! Someone pinch me!!

After 7 years of working and building my clientele. I sent her a thank you card, totally random, to say how grateful I was for her wisdom and encouragement. 🙏

We got coffee and she invited me to join her brand new salon she was opening called Smoke & Mirros in downtown SF. It was exciting and the perfect next step for my career.

I had the pleasure of working with Glenda and the top talent in SF for 8 years at Smoke & Mirros Salon. Until, I had to leave in the shut down during, covid. I'm so proud of her for being able to stay open during that very hard time. So many salons didn't make it.

I write all this to celebrate her hard work, for creating such an incredible environment to work at, for so many years. I was inspired every day, and feel honored to work there for as long as I did.

Smoke & Mirros Salon will be closing at the end of this month, after 12 years of service. I will always cherish the memories, I have from the years that I was blessed to work there. 🙏 with Glenda and all my colleagues along the way, I say thank you. I love you. Glenda and Milan for all that you do. May these next year's bring you the peace and enjoyment you deserve.

I spent about 17 hours working, testing colors, bleaching, applying colors ,washing, drying, applying more color multiple times to this wig. I wanted it to be perfect 👌 for my client to be able to feel like herself when she wears it. It was an honor to be able to do this for her. She is an incredible person, client and friend. So I put my while heart into it.
I learned a whole lot through out this journey 💯 🙏 but most of all I learned that when I do someone's hair its not just their hair. Its my hair too and when you go through the emotions of losing you hair. I feel it too. ❤️💓
My heart is full giving her her temporary hair for now and I'm excited to see what we do when her hair grows back and she's finished with all her treatments. Cancer free!! She such a bright light ✨️ fun colorful person. The possibilities are endless.
