Bkr
Made of glass and silicone, bkr is the beauty essential that will change the way you hydrate forever. Fast forward to a couple years later.
Best friends and co-founders, Tal Winter and Kate Cutler started bkr in 2011 with the belief that inner and outer beauty were connected. Their product was the clean, addictive, cult favorite bkr bottle and their concept was Beauty 101: drinking water is the foundation for soft, dewy, pretty skin–and wtf–hydrating shouldn’t be so hard. Confident they had solved the hydrating-is-hard problem, they

Water, obviously. Why, what did you think I meant?

Reminder: yes the f*** you can. Start over if you want to. Leave if you’re done. Apply before you’re invited. Say no without softening it. Ask for more. The reminder is small. The decision isn’t. With love from a woman who was told ‘no’ more times than she can count—and did it anyway.

Yes the f*** you can.
No permission slips.
No committee approval.
Just you. And the thing you’re about to do.
*And something new is coming. May it serve as a quiet little reminder for you. ♥️
Soft landings for everyone.
Say hello to the glass water bottle that multitasks better than the last few people you dated.
NICE GLA$$
Some people won’t get it—do it anyway.
Are you literally drinking metal every day? 🤔
Step away from the rash photos. Let’s slow down.
Tal here. I’ve spent over two decades deep in drinkware manufacturing and materials. Before we throw out every bottle in the house and burn the house down, let’s walk through what’s real.
We’re living in an era of constant micro-panic: microplastics, micro-metals, micro-everything.
Stainless steel has grades. Context matters. Dose matters. Cheap materials + prolonged acidity is not the same thing as plain water in a well-made bottle.
Perfection doesn’t exist. You can’t eliminate every environmental exposure. But you can make thoughtful choices without spiraling.
I chose glass because it’s chemically simple and inert and I just didn’t like the experience of even the fanciest metal. Not because it’s catastrophic.
Also: true nickel sensitivity exists for a small percentage of people, usually as a skin reaction. That’s real. It’s also specific—not a universal crisis.
It’s good to be aware, but try not to get overwhelmed, exhausted, and give up. Easier said than done, I know. Little conscious edits in what you do go a long way. Any questions? xx
