Art and Olfaction Awards had so many awesome fragrance submittals this year that they added an Honorable Mention category for 5 more that scored very high. COGNOSCENTI No44 Fire and Rain is honored to belong to this category. (It’s a love letter to California and we have def had the rain this year) thanks to all the judges. 👃🖤 and congrats to all the finalists! Can’t wait to smell them at Scent Week in LA.

We are very happy to announce we will once again be part of the Scent Fair in LA. COGNOSCENTI will be showcasing the scented portraits and debuting Vespertine, a spicy floral with night blooming gardenia and magnolia. Looking forward to seeing the perfume posse there!

Of the hundreds of fragrances released in 2022, COGNOSCENTI No 44 Fire and Rain made the top 25 of the Best of Scent ! I am truly honored! does the olfactive heavy lifting all year by smelling and thoughtfully assessing each of new creations by hundreds of talented perfumers. COGNOSCENTI is 10 today. It’s been a decade of learning, creative exploration production/supply chain challenges and most amazingly an open world of fellow enthusiasts, mentors and perfume inspiration. I’ve explored thousands of materials sometimes 15-20 of the same one, read everything I could about fragrance, the science of smelling, history of scented ingredients, and updated my cultural and sustainable awareness of those ingredients. I have changed my approach to perfume creation and ingredients many times and evolved the brand and myself in the process. At year 10 I am still a student and always will be. I hope I can continue to improve and contribute to the scented landscape. As I celebrate 10 years I also am launching No44 Fire and Rain. It embodies a decade of exploration, change and appreciation for the wonder of working with scent. Thank you to all who wear my scents. It is an honor. Special thanks to all of my peers, you inspire me, and to all the writers and critics who can see things in our work we sometimes can’t. Thank you all 🙏💚

Save the date! Art Explosion Spring Open Studios is April 1st -3rd. Lots of work including this beauty in progress. For those of you who missed previous shows I would really love to see you. As a reminder for the olfactive posse, there are scents for the artwork too. Each botanical portrait is expressed in oil paint and essential oils. Come smell the art.
