Sometimes It feels strange that we bottle up nature so that we can smell it when it’s all around us all the time. I think this maybe because growing up in a time of the ultra synthetic hyper clean frabreez and axe body spray it truly felt radical to return to the actual smells of our environment. When we started there was no other thought than to do it under the means of natural perfumery. Break Water has been a costal obsession. We wanted to turn the volume up on our favorite coastal flora. It often surprises me how much it takes me through the california sagebrush of the headlands, under the monterey cypress and into kelp beds of seaweed absolute. Introducing people to perfumes of the actual plants of our environs has been deeply special and rewarding.
