From Helsinki to Lisbon to New York, perfume clubs are curing urban loneliness one scent at a time.

These clubs come in all shapes and sizes. Some are built around blind smelling sessions; others run factory tours, workshops, or have guests bring in their favorite fragrance and swap with someone else; and some will host Q&As with perfume legends. The clubs welcome novices and enthusiasts alike, with many hosts actively guiding conversations away from insider language in order to create a more casual environment.

Olle Eriksson, founder of the Lisbon Perfume Club, said he started the events because he wanted to share his interest in a group setting and felt fatigued by “catch-up culture”—scheduled coffee or dinner dates where you talk about the last two weeks and then schedule the next meeting, rather than making new memories together. “It becomes like work,” he says.

This same sentiment is echoed among participants who are desperate for third spaces but dread forced small talk. Perfume clubs work because they bypass the transactional exhaustion of modern socializing and replace it with genuine connection through a shared sensory experience. Scent becomes a vehicle for richer conversations about memories, culture, taste, and even politics.

In a world where younger adults are lonelier than older generations and friendships can easily slip into scheduled obligations, people are craving ways to connect that don’t require purchasing or performance. They’re looking for spaces where they can just show up, experience something meaningful together, and talk about what it makes them feel.

There’s nothing like the warmth of a lingering embrace.

Long Kiss Goodnight is our most romantic fragrance, combining passion fruit with coffee beans, frankincense, and centifolia rose. It weaves a tale that unfolds on skin over time, evoking dreamy enchantment, romantic intrigue, and finally ardent passion. Every darling deserves a Long Kiss Goodnight – and a scent memory that lasts forever.
