I'm telling you this not because I'm an expert in French (quite the opposite, actually), but because until I looked it up this morning, I had no idea what to call the hair accessory we saw on multiple couture runways. Your Next In-Flight Beauty Look: Tying Your Hair Back—Literally As we pack our bags for London, we’ll be taking New York Fashion Week’s most laid-back hair trend with us: the knot. Not to be confused with the ever-popular high bun or chignon, this season, backstage hairstylists separated the hair into two sections and literally tied them into place like a shoelace or a string. For a travel-friendly look, we plan on trying the easy, half-back updo that James Pecis created for Zero + Maria Cornejo and let it loosen through the afternoon into the slightly off-kilter version that Paul Hanlon had in mind at Rag & Bone (above). For a day of shows, Thakoon’s tighter, sleeker variation (below) promises to keep our freshly washed hair out of the way as we zip from backstage to front row and on to a late dinner.
