A little travel tip I swear by...

Keep your skincare in your carry-on, not in the bag going under the plane. The temperature shifts in cargo can cause active ingredients, like your favorite vitamins and peptides, to break down and lose their effectiveness, or cause the oils and water in your creams to separate! ✈️✨

When your skin is dehydrated, it’s lacking water, not oil. The cells in your skin’s outer layer are essentially running on empty, which causes a temporary loss of elasticity. This journey was organized by Blue Odyssey Travel and led in partnership with legendary guide and conservationist Mark “Butch” Butcher, whose work through Imvelo brings together wildlife conservation, local community support, and a deeply thoughtful way of experiencing this part of the world. Over the course of the trip, we explored Victoria Falls, rode the Elephant Express through Hwange, visited a rhino sanctuary, went on walking safaris, spent time in a local village and school, and stayed at Camelthorn Lodge and Tum Tum Tree House, both unforgettable in completely different ways!

I’ve been to Africa five times, but never to these places, and this experience felt incredibly special. Sharing it with my dear friend and travel buddy of 20 years, Malgosia, made it even better. One of the most meaningful parts of the trip was visiting the school, which inspired me to sponsor one girl’s tuition from 6th through 12th grade.
