A little ✨️glitter✨️ never hurt anybody! Adding a little sparkle to henna designs for parties and sangeets is the perfect finishing touch for any design! And you could probably guess that glitter is always a crowd favorite for the aunties😂🥻

A personal favorite💓 I've noticed that my older clients prefer more traditional designs, typically, while my younger clients are more inclined towards contemporary pieces (asymmetrical layouts, jewelry-style beading, etc). While this isn't always the case, I do often consider what is age-appropriate for clients when I'm doing a design (those who have booked with me know that I don't carry a portfolio of samples - I just freestyle with whatever comes to mind💡)

Designs like these are the perfect way to combine something old + something new into a simple, elegant piece that works for everyone!✨️ Sometimes that involves exchanging one motif for another, introducing an entirely new element, or changing the layout so that your eyes read the design in a different way. Even though each design only takes a few short minutes, I try my best to create a unique, individualized piece that each client will love🥰

Winter is a busy season for henna artists and bridal vendors, especially because of all the postponed weddings with COVID. Lucky for me, that means I get a chance to try lots of new designs and step out of my comfort zone with new henna styles!

In all honesty, my toxic trait is that I forget to post pictures of my work on Instagram (this design was done 1.5yrs ago🤦‍♀️) Keeping up with social media is probably the hardest part about running a small business. Any other artists/MUAs/wedding vendors feel the same way?

With the summer season in full swing, I get tons of requests for body art pieces like this!🌞 Though henna is traditionally done on the hands and feet, this modern take on henna as body art allows for a bigger canvas and unlimited creativity🖌

While traditional henna calls for intense focus, smaller motifs, and intricate details, henna as body art requires me to utilize an entirely different range of techniques. Being able to zoom out and paint a picture with a wider lens is harder than you might imagine for most henna artists👩‍🎨 Simple concepts like estimating proportions and following the flow of the design are things that surprisingly take a lot of practice!

This was my first ever leg piece (how did I do?😋) For other henna artists looking to start practicing body art, I highly suggest tackling the leg first. Less flat areas like the shoulder or behind the neck can be tricky! What other body art pieces are you guys interested in seeing?💞
