Most bodywork in LA falls into one of two camps.
There's the precise camp โ biomechanics, structural assessment, joint mechanics, the work that looks at a body like an engineer looks at a building. Smart. Systematic. Often cold.
And there's the intuitive camp โ hands-on, fascia, breath, presence. Warm. Felt. Often imprecise.
We don't believe in choosing. Posture Lab LA is built where those two worlds meet. Every session at our studio reads your body with the rigor of biomechanics, then changes it with the depth of skilled bodywork. The structure tells us what to do. The hands actually do it.

Most posture work is built on one discipline. We built ours on five.
NEUROMUSCULAR RETRAINING.
Muscles fire when the nervous system tells them to. After years of stress, sitting, or compensation, the wrong muscles end up doing the right muscles' jobs. We re-cue the system โ through precise activation drills โ so the body fires in the right sequence again. Functional neurology, applied in real time.
FASCIAL RELEASE.
Fascia is the connective tissue web that wraps every muscle, organ, nerve, and bone. It doesn't stretch โ it reorganizes. Skilled fascia work releases the old pattern and lets the new one form. The tissue stays changed, not just the moment.
BIOMECHANICS.
Every joint has a job. Every chain has a sequence. We read where your loads are going, where your compensations live, and which links in the chain are doing work they were never designed for. Then we redirect the load.
BREATH RETRAINING.
The diaphragm is a postural muscle, not just a breathing muscle. If your breathing is broken, your structure is broken with it. We rebuild the pattern.
CONTRAST RECOVERY.

H๐๐ฃ ๐ ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ก๐ง. When the hips stop rotating, the lumbar spine takes over the rotation. It has very little rotational capacity by design. It gets compressed, irritated, and starts to hurt.
๐ฃ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ง๐๐๐ง. Anterior tilt overarches the low back. Posterior tilt flattens it. Either way, the low back ends up doing the work the deep core and glutes should be doing.
๐ก๐๐๐ ๐ง๐๐ก๐ฆ๐๐ข๐ก. Forward head posture tips the pelvis forward to counterbalance. The low back overarches by consequence โ all day, every day, for years.
๐๐ข๐ข๐ง ๐๐ฌ๐ฆ๐๐จ๐ก๐๐ง๐๐ข๐ก. Collapsed arches, asymmetrical loading, old ankle injuries โ all of these change how force travels up the chain. The low back is the place that ends up complaining.
This is why anti-inflammatories, generic stretching, and even most massage gives only short-term relief. None of those address the driver.

Research keeps confirming that imaging findings (disc bulges, degeneration, stenosis) often don't correlate with pain. Plenty of people have โterribleโ MRIs and zero symptoms. Plenty of people have clean MRIs and serious pain.
What does correlate with pain? Movement patterns. Load distribution. Muscular imbalance. All things we can see and change.
If your provider has flagged something that needs imaging, get it. Otherwise, start with a read.

Most low back and hip pain we see is a pelvis problem dressed up as something else.
