🚨 Attention California Nail Pros! 🚨

Starting January 1, 2025, new rules will decide whether you’re classified as an employee (W-2) or an independent contractor (1099).

According to the ABC Test, manicurists working in a salon will generally be considered employees unless ALL of the following are true:
A. You are free from the salon owner’s control and direction while performing your work.
B. The services you provide are NOT part of the salon’s usual business activities.
C. You run your own independent business (licensed, with your own clients and management).

If you don’t meet all three points, you’re presumed to be a W-2 employee, which means you’re entitled to:
✅ Minimum wage
✅ Sick pay
✅ Meal and rest breaks
✅ Overtime pay
✅ Workers’ compensation insurance

Don’t wait until it’s too late! Make sure you’re classified correctly and receiving the protections you deserve.
