I would describe myself as a classically trained stylist with modern aesthetics.

"In my experience the difference between a straight and a bisexual is about four pints."
Graham Norton
– April 4, 1963
Born in Irland as Graham William Walker, but because Equity (the actors' union) already had a Graham Walker as a member, Norton chose to his great-grandmother's maiden name as his last name.
Norton's career started as a standup comedy drag act. Since then, he was a panelist on radio and television shows before getting his own weekly talk show, and then a daily weeknight series. His current show, THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW, began in 2007. He has eight BAFTA awards!
As an actor, he has appeared on television series and in films. In 2009, Norton made his West End stage debut in a revival of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES.
In 1989, Norton was attacked by a group of ruffians in London. He nearly died. He claims that a pair of senior citizens found him and called for an ambulance, which probably saved his life. And, what a life it has been; well-documented in a pair of well-written, witty memoirs, plus he has published three well-reviewed novels. Norton has made this astonishingly rich life while being cheeky, campy, controversial, colorful, and openly gay.
A good friend of World of Wonder, Norton provided the forward to SCREENAGE: HOW TV SHAPED OUR REALITY, FROM TAMMY FAYE TO RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE (2023), the tasty memoir of WoW's co-founder, Fenton Bailey, where he says, in part: "I am lucky enough to be a judge on RuPaul's Drag Race UK. Standing on stage in front a huge studio audience, I could just as well be introducing the X FACTOR or AMERICAN IDOL – and that's the point. World of Wonder has redefined what mainstream is, and that changes the world. Marginalized people are that because they exist on the edges. The television that World of Wonder makes shifts our gaze and puts everyone on the main stage. As Fenton said when collecting his GLAAD Award in 1997: 'Until we embrace the zaniest, freakiest and gayest among us, there can be no fairness'. The hope is that one by one, this Screen Age will embrace us all."
After 51 incredible years in the cosmetology industry, the time has come for me to officially announce my retirement.
From working in television, on stage, with modeling agencies, and providing platform education for several product companies, this journey has been more rewarding than I could have ever imagined. While those experiences were exciting and inspiring, my true passion has always been the challenge and creativity behind the chair.
The greatest gift of my career has been the relationships built along the way. So many of you started as clients and became lifelong friends — even family. I will always cherish the trust you placed in me, your loyalty, your conversations, and the memories we created together.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your confidence in my ability, your support of my dedication to this craft, and for allowing me to do what I love for more than five decades.
With sincere gratitude,
Rod Schmittou
