Often times clients ask me if it is possible to enlarge lips with permanent makeup🤔

The answer is NO❗️

No professional permanent makeup artist will go outside of client’s natural vermilion border when doing permanent lip color.

Why❓
Because our skin acts as a filter that we are looking at the implanted color through. Since lips skin and face skin are not the same color (different color filters), after healing the lips color and the color outside of the lips vermilion border (face skin) will not be the same. You will get a smeared lipstick effect.

☝🏻However with permanent makeup you can still get an effect of visually fuller lips if your permanent makeup artist uses light, natural looking colors for your lips. Lighter the color fuller the lips will look.

Be sure to scroll to see the before and immediately after photos side by side. She had her eyebrows done by my colleague in Maryland about 3 years ago. So it was time to refresh them as the color faded.

When healed the the color will be 20-30% lighter.

What happens after permanent lip color procedure?
 
Your lips will be slightly swollen and tender. The color will begin to darken throughout the day as the pigment oxidizes.
The next day the swelling will subside and lips will feel dry. Don’t forget to moisturize them with Aquaphore as needed.
On the third day after the procedure lips will start peeling and this process will continue for approximately 2 days. Keep moisturizing your lips by applying a thin coat of Aquaphore.
Once peeling is over the color will look about 50% lighter, but will brighten towards the end of the forth week after the procedure. That is when you will see the final color.

Essentially it is a cosmetic tattoo of the lips where the color is implanted into the dermal layer of skin. It enhances the natural lip color, improves the shape of the lips, gives definition and the illusion of fuller lips.

❕When healed the color will be 30-40% lighter. The effect lasts 1.5-3 years.

Does it hurt to do a permanent eyeliner procedure?🤔

Numbing cream is applied to the eyelids prior to your eyeliner procedure, which makes the whole process a lot more comfortable. We also use a secondary anesthetic several times during the procedure.
Some people with sensitivity or a lower pain tolerance may find the procedure mildly uncomfortable, but generally most client's experience a little to no discomfort that feels more like your eyelids are being scratched.
