No blondes were harmed in the making of this mermaid 😌 In fact, this neon pastel peekaboo is one row of weft extensions that we can pop right out as soon as she is over it. Of course no one is really ever “over” Mermaid hair, but using extensions to add in vivid color is a great way to give yourself a lot of creative freedom to jump all over the color wheel without a huge commitment on your natural hair.
Extensions don’t have to be a full head thing! I can add different extension installation methods for different clients in different parts of their head whether they are looking for length, thickness, or color placement. And in case you were wondering: Extensions should ALWAYS be comfortable on your head and people should not be able to tell you have them. 😐 Pop on over to my website to fill out a virtual consultation form to get started with us at and we can help you out with that! 😌

I often don’t show client faces because I want YOU to picture yourself with this hair! I think it’s so funny how you never know how old the client is, if they are short, tall, skinny, thicccc, old, young, if they have pimples, or bad teeth, or crooked eyes, when you are looking at the back of their head. Of course, all of my clients are smoking hot and have none of these concerns, but shooting from the back and sides is a lot less pressure for the client and just captures my work without putting their identity on blast. You never actually know who my clients are, and some of them are pretty cool. 🤫
I once used a 67 year old model for a printed publication and they had no idea the model was a literal senior citizen because her hair made the back and side photos genuinely look like she could have been in her twenties. 😌How old you you think this client is?? Guess below!

Cheers to 10 years, ❤️
I have no idea if any of the Minoxidil style over-the-counter hair loss treatments *actually* work to stop or reverse hair loss, but I can say the Revive Foam has been giving me the BEST volume ever on dirty hair?! Hello?? 🤯
I have seriously been searching for a volumizing mousse that didn’t leave my hair feeling crispity crunchity my entire life and kinda gave up hope. I found this can of Revive Foam on clearance for 75% off and figured I would give it a shot for $9, and my jaw is on the floor on how much hair it makes me LOOK like I have! I could care less if it makes any more hair grow, I’m honestly just happy with the fact that I found a product that makes me FEEL confident. This isn’t sponsored, I literally found it in the clearance aisle, but I would actually buy it again. This would even be clutch in the salon for fine haired clients, and ESPECIALLY to prep wedding updos!
Has anyone else tried any Minoxidil based products?? Did it actually work for you?! I just started using it a week ago, but I’ll report back in a month! 🫡

I’m heartbroken to share the passing of Julian Normand, who many of you knew as “Jeweldoeshair”, on February 5, 2026. 💔
I don’t even know what to say right now. We lived a whole era together—some of the best, wildest, most creative years of my life. These photos are from when everything felt big and possible and we were right in the middle of it all. Walking right onto tarmac airplanes and smoking after dinner with felt like we had really “made it.” 🥺
Jewel was insanely talented. Like, truly one of those artists that was amazing with texture, cutting, styling, extensions blonding, and color. He was open and proud about his recovery, and he was also open about how he had been struggling with it. He had a lot of hope that he was going to come back with a vengeance, and so did I.
It felt like we were two rising stars until we were shooting in different directions. Over the last few years, Jewel strayed from the hair industry and moved back home to Louisiana to be closer to his mom, who he loved endlessly. ❤️
So I guess I don’t know what else to say, but I wanted to you know in case you also knew and loved Jewel and wanted to know about his passing.
Ju Ju, I’m sorry this life wasn’t more gentle on you, but I’m going to remember you this way. Where your curls were poppin, your smile was big, and your confidence was bigger. I’ll look for you in the clouds, my star. 🌟

About 3 years ago, I got tired of waiting for things to change in the hair industry and decided if I thought I could do it better, that I should give it a shot. My schedule was full of regulars and I had a never-ending wait list of new clients waiting to come in. While I worked my whole career to get to that point, something was still missing. So I went and gave myself this little project that has turned into my full-time gig for the last two years, .
I love doing hair, but good is the enemy of great. The job I once yearned for as a busy stylist became the thing I dreaded doing because I was so burned out. Cosmetology school taught me how to pass the state board exam, but there was no required tertiary education after that, which is crazy for an ever changing industry. The education available to me felt too…cool? Too much flashy platform work, not enough usable information. Super hot educators that haven’t had a back to back day of clients in a salon in years, if ever. I would be in a whole convention center full of hair stylists and feel like I was there alone because we are all scrambling like little rats all over the venue trying to find the next presentation and not connecting with each other.
Now listen, you will still find me like a little rat scrambling all over other hair shows because I want to learn everything. But a lot of what I’m trying to learn is how we can improve our TRC experience for all of you. Other hair shows and classes have their place, but is unprecedented and in its own league. Not better, but different. Representative of the stylists it was created for.
Most importantly, this isn’t MY show. This is OUR show. Anyone in leadership will tell you that it is a whole lot less about being put on a pedestal, and a whole lot more of putting your ego to bed and taking it on the chin when s**t hits the fan. So when I talk about great is, it’s not because I think we’re better. This was just built different, and as a newer show, we have the opportunity to curate this every year as we go, together. I miss you all, but every day I work on TRC and dream of October! 🌈

Wanted to make sure the old girls still got it, so I busted out the and created these retina burning rainbows 😌🌈 I just added a little vignette to the edges of this pic, but the saturation and brightness is for real! I actually winced a little 😂 Needless to say, we both still got it 😌❤️
This client has the most pin-straight, fine (but dense) hair, so we use what we call “the trifecta” at to repair old damage and proactively protect from any further damage: Steps 1 & 2, followed up with mask, styled with . We don’t gatekeep, so I’ve been sharing this trick for the last few months, and I can absolutely say that the long-term health of our returning client’s hair has been noticeable, especially when they keep up on treatments at home. Less breakage, wayyy better color retention, and so much shine. I also loveeee the smell of the and literally slather it on my daughter’s head so I can get a little whiff as needed throughout the day 😂 Also, none of this is sponsored, I’m just sharing my favorite products with my friends ❤️
Anyway, I wanna know what your go-to blowout product is for a fine haired client like this? I round brushed the s**t out of her and it looks like I flat ironed her 😂 What are we doing for the girlies with no natural body to their hair?!
I am SO PROUD of this hair 😍😍😍 I didn’t do it, but I wanted to shout out one of the “baby stylists” who did at : !
The other day, was shooting this wig and I had already been drooling over it on the mannequin stand for the last few days at work. I had to sneak a video for myself to brag because we have had the privilege of having Zoe as a client first, we got to see her through beauty school, and we’ve gotten to be her only salon home since she graduated. This wig is some award winning work, and she totally “finished the thought” as I always say when it comes to placement, colors, styling, accessories, background, lighting. Sound on for commentary from and I 😂❤️
has had the BEST mentors ever, and I would be remiss not to shout out all of the stylists at the Mermaid Lounge that took Zoe under their wings because this is a culmination of her natural talent and dedication to working hard, and all of our love and skills as a team, poured into one person. Mentorship works both ways and we all make one another better. Thank you to “the kids” always for being…well…everything. 🥹 🌈 We are truly a dream team and you are the best artists and friends ever 🥹

We had a lovely day at the Mermaid Lounge creating beautiful hair, oblivious to what was going on in the outside world until closing time. I’ll post that hair another day, because today it’s important to use this opportunity to lose every follower I have that supports ICE. No need to announce your departure. 👋🏼
We talk about holocaust so it would never happen again, and yet here we are, watching families get ripped apart and people murdered at peaceful protests by the US government in 2026. I refuse to stay quiet because it’s important to be abundantly clear where I stand as a person of privilege with a platform, and as a business owner with a voice. I need more education to cut your hair than these ICE agents need to wield a gun. This is all very, very not okay.
As a mother, I’m scared for my child’s future. As a woman, I’m terrified for my own. I’m grateful to own a business where I know that every stylist aligns politically and work is a safe space for us and likeminded clients. is a privately owned business that is by appointment only. We loudly support the LGBTQIA+ community, Black Lives Matter, and that no human is illegal on stolen land. And I know AI sucks, but I’d rather use it to create this post and let people know where I stand in a way that helps me communicate it than stay silent and post hair like nothing is happening.
I’m so grateful to have the unwavering support of our clientele that know they are safe in our chairs, and this space is protected by good vibes, two locked points of entry, and several amendments. To enter the building, you either need to have an appointment or a judicial warrant, period.
For my friends in Minnesota, we see what’s going on over there and my heart is breaking for you. Thank you for trying to lead peaceful protests that cannot be ignored. I don’t know how we come back from this, but I guess talking about it so it never happens again is a good start.
Sending big mer-mom hugs to all of my friends and followers that are feeling extra heavy tonight. If everywhere else in the world feels scary right now, just know you are safe in my businesses and I’m sitting in solidarity with you.
