20 years of yoga.

Twenty years ago, I pulled on a borrowed pair of basketball shorts and a Hanes T shirt and walked into my first yoga class. I was confused, completely worked, and quietly certain that I had found something essential.

Since then, yoga has taken me around the world. I have practiced and taught in many places, including standing on a stage on Broadway in Times Square. I became a certified yoga instructor. I studied with extraordinary teachers… and with a few who were not so extraordinary, and in many cases, those *unextraordinary* experiences perhaps taught me just as much as the excellent ones.

Through seasons of growth and challenge, ease and effort, yoga has been my constant. Over time, the practice has taught me that the goal is not just what happens on the mat, but learning how to carry that steadiness, awareness, and peace into daily life.

I am deeply grateful for the past 20 years of practice, teaching, and learning.

Here’s to the next 20.

• 1 small clove garlic, thinly sliced
• Pinch of sea salt
• Optional finish: lemon zest or splash of apple cider vinegar

Instructions
1. Wash beet greens thoroughly & spin or pat dry

4. Add beet greens and a pinch of salt
5. Sauté, stirring gently, until wilted and tender, about 2 - 3 minutes
