⁉️Can you get a whitening treatment with pre existing dental work such as crowns?

Short answer: yes!

Long answer: Treatment will only lighten to its original color. When crowns are placed they are already the color they are always going to be. They may get darker with time due to diet, lifestyle, and habits.

Our natural teeth have pores and that is what makes this process completely different. When we whiten natural teeth we are able to pe*****te layers of the teeth and push out stains and whiten to the dentin. This is something we can’t do with crowns, implants, or dentures.

My client has had these crowns for over 20 years. We were able to whiten the stains she accumulated over the years on her pre existing crowns. And as we can see her lower teeth absorbed the whitening agent perfectly and we were able to get rid of 6 shades! My client was very happy with her results as she thought her crowns would never lighten at all.

Pudimos blanquear las manchas que acumuló a lo largo de los años en sus coronas preexistentes. ¡Y como podemos ver, sus dientes inferiores absorbieron el gel blanqueador perfectamente y pudimos deshacernos de 6 tonos! Mi clienta estaba muy contenta con sus resultados, ya que pensaba que sus coronas nunca se blanquearán en absoluto.
