This picture was taken when I was traveling with my sisters in Portugal in 2024, and it is still one of my favorite pictures from that trip.

For some reason, when I look at it, I see myself diving into the wind. Hair in the wind, me leaning into it, just kind of letting it take me.

Why do I feel this way about this picture? I have absolutely no idea 😂

Especially because, in real life, I don’t even like wind that much. I’m always afraid I’m going to get cold and end up with terrible ear pain. Very romantic, I know.

But here we are.

This was my third Independence Day as a U.S. citizen.

To be honest, these are not calm times. I don’t expect them to become calmer anytime soon, and I’m mentally prepared to live through a few more years of uncertainty and turbulence.

What helps me stay afloat is surprisingly simple: My boyfriend, my family, my friends, coming home to my cats after a long day.

Those are the things that keep me grounded and bring me back to a normal state of mind. Then the fireworks on the Fourth of July become the cherry on top—a reminder that even during stormy times, there are still reasons to celebrate and enjoy life.

That mindset also reminds me why I love what I do.

Lately, it seems I can’t control the politics, or the economy. But I can make one small part of someone’s life a little easier.

I wanted to share a real, unedited close-up of freshly done lips so you can see what the results actually look like right after a PMU appointment.

✨ This is a beautiful immediate result. In fact, the lips shown here have less swelling, bruising, and irritation than many clients experience right after the procedure.

Every person heals differently, and it is completely normal to have some swelling, small bruises, redness, or temporary unevenness immediately after treatment.

🤍 The close-up photos can make everything look more dramatic than it appears in real life. From a normal conversation distance, freshly done lips typically look much softer than they do under a camera lens.

The good news is that most of the initial swelling and irritation begins to settle within the first few hours after the procedure.
