Weight loss tips #4. Hold yourself accountable but don't be harsh on yourself. There may be days you will not be able to stick to your plans. The trick is to cut your losses. Turn back as soon as possible. It's ok to mess up, just don't continue. Best of my weight loss has been after I messed up n turned back, becoming regular and sincere with my routine

Lunch on a foggy Monday. I bought this artisan rye bread from pike market place to make healthy grilled cheese sandwiches. But I thought that it had way too strong rye flavor for me to handle in a sandwich. So today I made this middle eastern red lentil soup; a perfect companion to warm you up on a foggy and rainy Monday. You ask where are vegetables or a salad? All vegetables are in the soup. Carrots, bell peppers, onions, potatoes, celery, and potatoes too. Add a splash of fresh lime juice before serving. The toasted rye goes so well with it. Yumyum

Zunka or gram flour/ besan porriage (also dry prorriage like shown in the picture) is an iconic protein rich vegan dish from western part of India, which ideally is eaten with jowar/ sorghum bread called Barki. A 100 grams of Zunka has about 22 g protein and at least 10 g fiber. Additionally it is a great source of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium. This is one of my favorite and most versatile dishes I grew up on, which is also a staple in Maharashrian cuisine/ western Indian diet. It is very easy to follow a well rounded vegan diet in Maharashrian cuisine. A cup of zunka has about 275 calories and well worth place in my diet 😋 Yum yum

What are you waiting for?

Are you waiting for a perfect fitness and nutrition plan to start living healthy? Don't bother, because such thing doesn't exist. Begin now with what you have. Whatever you have is plenty!
Are you depriving yourself of foods that are staple in your usual diet? If you do, chances are that your cravings will be regular, which is not a nice thing to deal with. Instead, incorporate healthy versions of them into your diet and exercise portion control.
Are you thinking of joining that high intensity spin class that promises to burn 1000 calories? Or join your superfit friend to run a 21 mile marathon to stay fit? The truth is you dont have to, if you are not there fitness wise. Walking at 2.5 mph for 30 minutes everyday will be just as good.
