Bruce Harrell decided a pickleball tournament in our neighborhood was better than helping the homeless on our block, so be aware that 5th is closed between Taylor and Wall both Saturday and Sunday. Parking will be limited so maybe use public transit. Don't get hit by a ball on your way in!

At Helix, we really struggled about when to stop requiring masks at the salon. COVID 19 is still out there, but we are better prepared with vaccinations and boosters to meet it head on. So we are now making masking *optional* in the salon. If you would like us to mask, please ask us to; if you would like to still be masked, that's fine; and we humbly ask you to mask if you have some symptoms or a close contact is sick. We will still provide a mask if you'd like one!

Hey there. We know how tough it has been to get through this pandemic. But for the safety of our staff, and you, we are still going to mask in the salon until the community spread post the mandate expiration is as close to 0 as possible. It just makes sense to keep masking in order to keep everyone safe. Sam and Siddal thank you for following our safety precautions.

It's true! Both Sam and Siddal are fully vaccinated against covid-19! We still continue to ask that you come in a mask, and help us follow the local and state guidelines of phase 3. We can have up to 4 clients in the salon at a time!

Helix Salon is looking for two full-time or part-time curl-friendly hair stylists to add to our team in Downtown Seattle. We are a body positive, LGBTQIA+ friendly, feminist salon looking to recruit other hair nerds looking for a new space to work. We have competitive rent which includes backbar, and can include color (we are a Davines color salon), with the option to retail your own products or share in the profits of what we have to offer already (Davines, AG Hair, DevaCurl).
We do not offer keratin treatments, perms or relaxers- instead we focus on helping clients understand and love their natural texture, whatever it happens to be! So we are a low toxin environment for clients and stylists.

Hey clients and friends of Helix salon! Governor Inslee's capacity restrictions for personal services mean we have to go back to doing services on a one to one basis. So the stylists will be changing their availability, and reaching out to reschedule you if needed.
We appreciate your forbearance as we pivot back a phase, and your patience as we reschedule you.
We also appreciate your community care in limiting your exposure during the holidays, as cases spike around the country.

Hey y'all! King County has entered Phase Two of the Safe Start initiative. That means we can now work to at a time in the salon! Your stylist will reach out to teacher if needed.
If you haven't gotten back in to see your stylist yet, send them an email! We're still giving priority to returning, long-standing clients of the salon, but if we don't know you want to get in, we can't get you scheduled!
Lastly, thank you for wearing a mask to your appointment and being open to the protocols in place for client safety in the salon. We really appreciate the car it shows for your community!
