Sometimes the smallest addition to your massage can make the biggest difference.

Whether it's hot stones to help stubborn muscles relax, cupping for areas that need a different approach, or our Migraine Melt-Away enhancement for head, neck, and jaw tension, these aren't just "extras." They're treatment tools we can use to better customize your session.

Not sure what's right for you? You don't have to figure it out on your own. We're happy to make recommendations based on your goals, your symptoms, and what we find during your session.

Have you tried one of our enhancements yet? Which one has been your favorite—or which one are you curious about?

💨 What does cupping actually do?

Cupping creates gentle suction that lifts the skin and underlying tissues instead of compressing them like traditional massage. This can help encourage movement between tissue layers, improve circulation to the area, and reduce the feeling of tightness or restriction.

Many people find cupping helpful for:
• Muscle tension and soreness
• Stiff shoulders and neck
• Tight back and hips
• Recovery after exercise
• Areas that feel "stuck" or restricted

Those circular marks that sometimes appear? They're not bruises. They're a temporary response to the suction and vary from person to person—even the same person may mark differently from one session to the next.

Like any massage technique, cupping isn't a one-size-fits-all approach. It's simply one of many tools that can be incorporated into a treatment plan when it's appropriate for your body and goals.

✨ Every body responds differently, and every session should be tailored to the individual.

By the time something hurts, your body has usually been working overtime to compensate. One tight muscle becomes two. One stiff joint changes how you move. Before long, what started as a small issue becomes a much bigger one.

That's why we believe massage shouldn't just be reserved for when you're already miserable.

Regular therapeutic massage can help:
• Improve mobility
• Reduce muscle tension
• Support recovery
• Identify problem areas early
• Keep your body moving the way it was designed to

At RootCause Massage & Wellness, every session begins with an assessment because no two bodies--and no two treatment plans--are the same.

Your body works hard for you every day.
Take care of it before it demands your attention.

👋 Hi everyone! I’m Victoria, the owner of RootCause Massage & Wellness and I’m officially adding Ashiatsu Massage to my service offerings at RootCause Massage & Wellness! 🎉

If you’ve seen videos of massage therapists literally walking on clients and thought, “Wait… what?!” 🤔👣 You’re not alone.

Ashiatsu is a therapeutic massage technique where I use my feet to deliver slow, controlled, customized pressure while supported by overhead bars. And despite how it looks, many clients describe it as one of the most comfortable & effective forms of deep tissue work they’ve ever experienced. 💜

Why?

✨ Broad, even pressure
✨ Less poking from thumbs, knuckles, and elbows
✨ Great for larger muscle groups
✨ Allows for slow, consistent compression
✨ Deep work without feeling beaten up afterward

One of my favorite things about Ashiatsu is that it lets me work deeply while still helping your body relax and release tension naturally. It’s not about “no pain, no gain” around here. 😉

And before anyone worries—we still have amazing practitioners in the office offering hands-on deep tissue and customized therapeutic massage! 🙌

Ashiatsu isn’t replacing anything. It’s simply another tool that allows us to better match the treatment to the person on the table.

So if you’ve ever said:
💭 “I like deep pressure.”
💭 “Nothing ever feels deep enough.”
💭 “I need someone to get into my back and hips.”

…Ashiatsu might be worth exploring.

Questions? Curious? Slightly concerned that I’ve decided to walk on people for a living? 😂👣

Massage can feel good, but for many people, that’s only part of the goal.

Whether you’re dealing with chronic tension, recurring pain, movement restrictions, headaches, stress, or simply trying to maintain the progress you’ve already made, massage can be a tool to support how you move and function day to day.

At RootCause Massage & Wellness, treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all. Sessions are individualized based on your goals, symptoms, and what your body is telling us that day.

What benefit do you notice most after massage?

Many clients come in after trying stretching, changing pillows, foam rolling, or just waiting for it to go away.

Sometimes the issue isn’t that you haven’t tried hard enough--it’s that the approach needs to be more individualized.

Our approach focuses on assessment, treatment planning, and helping you return to movement with less restriction.
