**Forget the Myths!**
One big myth I’d like to bust: waiting longer between haircuts doesn’t mean your hair will get longer. If your hair is meant to grow, it will keep growing until the day you die. The real issue lies in split ends and breakage. Split ends start at the tips and, if not trimmed, work their way up the shaft, leading to breakage and preventing you from seeing true length. Regular trims stop split ends in their tracks, helping your hair maintain its length and health.

**How Often Should You Trim?**
Forget the myth that you need a trim every month. Hair typically grows about half an inch to an inch per month, so trimming frequency should be customized to your hair’s history and habits. Here’s what I recommend: Examples-

- **Ana**: Virgin hair, no heat styling, and a love for long locks. Ana should come in for a trim about **twice a year** (spring and fall).
- **Barbara**: Colors her hair professionally (no bleach) and uses hot tools occasionally. Barbara should visit for a trim about **every 4 months**.
- **Lisa**: A fan of highlights, frequent color changes, and regular hot tool use. Lisa needs to plan for a trim about **every 3 months**. An easy way to remember? Come in at each season change!

**Trims vs. Big Chops**
Don’t worry—a trim doesn’t mean losing inches of your hair. It’s just enough to remove those damaged ends and keep your hair looking and feeling its best. However, if your hair is not in the healthiest condition, a bigger chop might be needed to start your hair’s maintenance journey on the right foot.

So, if you want to keep your hair strong, shiny, and happy, regular trims are your best friend!
