In my journey and new season, I asked God to grow me:)
What's that look like?
To me, it's more healing from being triggered!
I think deep down, even after all the growth, you can still have little barbs and roots that just rear up. Whatever reminds you of “that thing”…

When they do, you can bet you'll try to control something. 🙂 Yes, even hair is a trigger!

What do I do when I'm triggered, or feel out of control, or maybe sad or even upset?
I want to change the way I look: lose weight, get more tan, straighten my hair, add extensions, get better makeup... usually it's in the form of being self-critical.
Can you relate?
Now, obviously, I am in the Beauty industry and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with any of that- but I am speaking about motive. WHY are you doing what you’re doing?

Interestingly enough, I am now empty nesting and have more time to focus on myself more than ever before. (No, it's not selfish; God says to look at your own heart and let Him prune you.)
So, as I started learning about plants 🌱 (thanks to some very amazing clients and my mom for helping me!), I learned that you have to cut plants way back in order for them to grow.
It's kind of sad to cut them down because you feel like they're losing beauty, but no, you're going to see a fuller, bigger thing soon.
So, in my journey to stop making emotional decisions about myself, I am wearing my hair curly. 😊
You may think it's strange because many of you love it. Well, it's not just that. Often times when I see myself in the mirror with curly hair, it reminds me of some very unpleasant things, some very mean things that were said, people that made me feel a certain way about it, and on and on it goes.

Maybe with weight, height, or a body feature? We all have walked through this.

You know the saying, 'You are what you surround yourself with.' Well, I want to encourage you that in my journey, I'm here to encourage you as I do it myself! Are any of you in a season where you're ready to change something? One thing I want to do is encourage you to change the algorithm of your social media. I follow a lot of very curly content, curly hair now. I follow a lot of Christian influencers, Godly women, healthy accounts, real food, and real people. I unfollowed things that made me feel insecure and not 'good enough.' I follow animals, farms, and beehives. lol
So now my feeds are full of things that look like what I'm growing into, rather than a bunch of things that remind us all we need to look like them or have what they have!
You don’t have to pass down your insecurities and issues to your kids:)
You CAN break a cycle.

Do you have something you want to embrace and or let go of? With God, all things are possible to those who believe.

I can say no to making myself “feel better on the outside” and ask God “Why do I feel this way right now?”.
