May is skin cancer awareness month. Are you covered?

Let’s talk SPF 🌞 You’ve probably heard that you need to use SPF everyday. And chances are you probably don’t. Am I right? Let me tell you why you should. 🤓 SPF helps protect your skin from cancer; but it also helps prevent premature aging, hyperpigmentation, and wrinkling. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. One in five Americans will develop skin cancer before the age of 70. Applying sunscreen daily drastically decreases your chances of getting skin cancer. While you may think you only need to wear SPF when you are outside, I’m here to tell you that’s false! There’s new studies that are showing that blue light (light that emits from your phone) can also cause skin issues as well as some lights inside your house! We carry PCA skin broad spectrum SPF at the salon which is recommended by The Skin Cancer Foundation! SPF found in foundations and moisturizers are typically not enough so you should always add in a broad spectrum SPF under your makeup!

Yes, you still need to moisturize even if you’re oily! We have some great options for moisturizers at the salon, come talk to me and let’s find the right one for you!
