What is downsizing, and why is it necessary??

Great question!
✨When we initially pierce your ear, the jewelry we will use will have a longer post (that’s the part of the jewelry you see from behind!)
✨We do this on purpose, to allow room for the swelling etc. that accompanies healing.
✨After your piercing is done with the initial swelling phase (usually 6-8 weeks after piercing), you’ll want to come in so that we can downsize that post. Again - WHY THO?? Well, that longer post can start getting stuck in your hair which will snag/pull on the post and irritate it. Additionally, you might also accidentally sleep on it and when that post is longer, it can shift so it’s no longer straight back. Sleeping on posts that are too long can also cause bumps and irritation - which is why we always recommend a piercing pillow while healing.

So, ✨book your downsizing appointment!✨ It’s quick and makes those piercings so much more comfortable!

Hey, it’s okay if you are feeling a little nervous before getting your piercing!

Some people have nerves when it comes to needles - but here is the GREAT news about hollow needle piercings: it’s QUICK. Usually a piercing appointment from start to finish is around 15 minutes and that is allowing time for picking your jewelry, cleaning the area and marking your ear, and then the actual piercing.

Please know that you never have to feel bad about having nerves while you are in my chair! We will talk through it and I’ll do my best to help ease those nerves 🫶🏻🥰
