Seven months ago, Aaron and I started considering a move away from Texas. Not because we don’t like it, not for a job… but because we both, separately, got the impression that we should be in Utah. It took a month for either of us to say anything, and then we decided we should probably consider it.

This is a hard move for me, as my whole family is in Texas, and most are in my neighborhood. But sometimes, just because it’s hard, doesn’t mean it’s wrong. So, after about a million tears, we started digging in and doing our homework.

After several trips to Utah to drive around neighborhoods to see what we areas we like - we didn’t love any until we found a neighborhood called Daybreak in South Jordan. Look it up y’all, it’s amazing.

We kept telling each other that if it’s meant to be - everything will line up. Then after struggling to find something we like, finding the right lender, etc - everything fell in to place within a week and this house came up for sale. In the exact location, exact floorplan we were obsessing over, next to the elementary school and across from the MOST amazing bike park. Our offer was accepted and the countdown has officially begun!

Aaron will be going back and forth to watch over the basement completion once we close, and then we will be moving right after school gets out.

I cry on the regular, and really hope that gets easier. I know my kids will have a hard time but pray that there was a reason for the impression we had seven months ago… whatever that may be.

So, if you’re still reading - wish me luck on this giant leap of faith. As much as I love change… this is a big one, even for me!

It may have been 50 degrees and raining last night, but we wanted to try this ice cream shop and it was yummy!! I didn’t get pictures of everyone but here’s a couple. 🍦

Starting a new chapter for this girl! This is her first time actually swinging a bat (in an actual practice). Can’t wait to watch her grow in the sport! She had a great time at practice yesterday and is so ready for the season! 🥎

Let me tell you something about this girl. She’s the oldest Haroldsen at elementary this year, and taking the job VERY SERIOUSLY. She was very concerned about Andrew buying lunch for the first time, afraid that he wouldn’t know what to do, and wanted us to pack him a lunch just in case. She also held his hand ALL the way home, even though Aaron was walking with them. If I was worried about these two being the only two at elementary, I’m not anymore. ❤️ My mama heart is full.

Welp… it’s finally hit us. Four out of the six of us have tested positive for Covid. It’s a day I have feared since day 1 due to my lung disease. That’s the thing about this virus, is that nobody knows how someone else will react to it.

I’m the only one showing symptoms. This is my first time out of bed in 2 days. The headache is almost more than I can take. However, I am trying to keep it in perspective. With as painful as the headache has been, I imagined it would have attacked my lungs the most, without question. I’m incredibly grateful it hasn’t yet.

Everyone that is able to be - has been vaccinated. My kids wear masks at school. We have been super super careful. The ones that are negative are definitely keeping their distance. You just don’t know what will happen or how it will affect your family! Prayers to anyone else going through this because even my mild version has been miserable. ❤️

You’re welcome for the filter… the real thing is scary at the moment 🤣
