Deep tissue massage is a type of therapeutic massage that helps treat muscular and systemic problems. During a deep tissue massage, I use slow strokes to apply firm pressure to the muscle, moving in and out of tight spots within the muscle. This helps me to break up scar tissue and adhesions (knots) within the soft tissues of the body, which shear off pieces that are causing pain or tension. Drinking lots of water before and after the session helps re-hydrate the muscles and remove the toxins from the body.

The benefits of massage are diverse, yet simple. Massage can lower stress levels and feelings of anxiety. It can improve mood and relaxation while increasing confidence and self-image.
