The power of
I wanted to do a side by side with just verses conventional (before Olaplex ) lightening. Also I used a heating pad on low, layered with cloth and a towel to simulate body heat.
I repeated this three times and tried to treat the hair as gently as I could as I worked with it.
I used Keune Magic Blonde with 30 volume with the virgin swatch and the same lightener with 40 volume and 1/8th Olaplex (per the recommended directions) second virgin swatch, both swatches are from the same head.
Each time I processed 45 minutes, rinsed, on the swatch with Olaplex, number 2 for ten minutes, then both were shampooed twice with Keune ' color care shampoo.
As you can see from the photos, the Olaplex swatch held up much beter, after rinsing the third application both swatches were gummy, but the swatch without Olaplex felt like a wad of cotton when it gets wet. After they were dried the last time, combing was difficult but much less breakage from the swatch with Olaplex.(refer to photos )
Why did I do this? First it's just interesting :) and secondly I want to know for myself that a product I use, does what it says it will.
