Sun damage & Premature Aging

1. Collagen breakdown = sagging + lines
UV exposure activates enzymes that literally eat your collagen. Less collagen = thinner, looser skin, deeper wrinkles.

2. “Leathering” of the skin
Chronic sun exposure thickens and roughens the outer layer—what people call that crepey, leathery texture. It’s not dryness—it’s structural damage.

3. Dark spots aren’t just cosmetic
Sun triggers excess melanin production → sun spots + uneven tone. Over time, this creates that “aged” look even if the skin is otherwise healthy.

4. Broken capillaries + redness
UV weakens blood vessel walls → visible veins, постоян redness, and a flushed appearance that doesn’t go away.

5. Loss of elasticity
Sun damages elastin fibers → skin doesn’t “bounce back.” That’s where the drooping and slackness comes from.

6. Eye area aging accelerates first
The thinnest skin gets hit hardest → crow’s feet, crepey under-eyes show up earlier with sun exposure.

7. Up to ~80–90% of visible aging = sun
This is called Photoaging—not just “getting older,” but aging caused by UV.
