We have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of support and the many orders we've received since we announced our store's impending closure. In order to pack the orders we've already received and reassess our inventory, we are pausing our final sale temporarily. The leaves are changing color, the days are growing shorter, and the temperatures are dropping. As we get out the sweaters and boots once more, I'm also thinking about how to adjust my skincare routine for these cooler days. For those of us with drier or more mature skin, for daytime I recommend misting freshly cleansed skin with Cistus and Moonlight Face Mist, which offers a deep moisturizing effect and a rich, resinous scent that's just right for fall. Then I turn to Tigress Balm, which not only hydrates but also acts as an astringent to minimize pores and help the skin look more toned. Tigress also has a wonderfully cozy, autumn-appropriate scent of curry and frankincense with sweet pinyon pine. Add a weekly treatment with Imhotep's Balsam Face Mask for even more nurturing hydration and another deeply complex, comforting, autumnal scent experience.

For those who are younger and/or those with combination, normal, or acne-prone skin, Sungod Face Mask is an ideal soothing, healing weekly treatment for fall. After cleansing in the morning, I suggest misting with either antioxidant-rich Three Roses Face Mist or On a Swing Among Trees, which offers toning and acne-reducing effects with a beautiful turmeric-lemon-rose-myrrh scent. Follow the mist with Ambrosia do Cerrado Liquid Moisturizer, using more or less depending on how much hydration you need--I like to use it quite generously on my own skin. Add a layer of Yasuni Face Balm to balance oil production and gently and naturally exfoliate the skin.

She says, “This is one of my favorite teas that they [Earthwise] do… it’s so tart and refreshing. If you ever make sun tea, this is really beautiful in the summertime months, but I also feel like it’s really beautiful in the winter as well because hibiscus is very high in vitamin C, so it’s also very comforting as a hot tea in the winter.” We couldn’t agree more—we highly recommend Hibiscus hot or cold as a refreshing, immunity-boosting, day-brightening drink all year long. In her new September Empties video, shares a huge list of her recent beauty hits and misses, including several Earthwise Beauty favorites. We were thrilled to hear Trish’s take on our Three Roses Deep, Sweet Rose Mist: “This has definitely become one of my absolute favorite toners. This is just so, so gorgeous, it has three types of roses… one is actually a rose essence to provide lovely therapeutic benefits of rose, which [include] compassion, and love, and self-compassion, which I think is super important for everybody… It’s not just your basic rose water… I absolutely love this... Can’t say enough amazing things about it.”

She also notes that longtime subscribers won’t be surprised to find a Marshmallow Face Cleanser bottle among her empties: “This has just been a perrennial favorite of mine for years and years and years… probably my favorite foaming cleanser of all time.” And although Paloma of the High Desert’s nutty scent turned out to be not quite Trish’s style, she encourages her viewers to give it a try, since scent preferences are so subjective. “The texture is beautiful, the ingredient list is beautiful…the experience of cleansing my face with it was very beautiful.”

As anyone who has ever struggled with their skin knows, finding a product that truly works can be life changing. The best part of our job is hearing from customers who have, after years of suffering, been able to finally heal their skin once and for all with our products. We were thrilled to recently get one such review from Diana, for whom Yasuni Face Balm turned out to be a "miracle in a jar." She writes:

"I have struggled for years with huge pores and blackheads on my nose, T-zone and cheeks that would trigger my trypophobia and cause embarassment and self consciousness. Our Ambrosia do Cerrado Liquid Moisturizer and Nap in the Meadow Face Serum are both lightweight, aloe-based hydrating formulas, so what sets them apart from one another?

Ambrosia contains a mix of brightening, glow-inducing fruit and seed oils that deliver a wealth of vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients to the skin. Because it contains no emulsifiers or essential oils, Ambrosia is suitable for even the most sensitive skin. It is light enough to hydrate acne-prone and oily skin types without the risk of breakouts and without creating a heavy or oily feel. For dry and normal skin types, meanwhile, it makes an excellent first hydrating step and can be followed by a richer facial oil or cream. The formula also includes a variety of handmade wildflower essences that add a layer of energetic healing to the serum, offering a sense of protection and resilience. Nap does contain essential oils, but we find that most people with sensitive skin or skin allergies are able to tolerate it well. While it works well on all skin types, we especially recommend it for those with dry and dehydrated, mature, acne, combination, and oily skin.
