Wild June Co.
Handcrafted bath & body made in the PNW. Back in 2013 we made our first batch of soap, and from then on we were hooked! XO, Brittnee
Since then our addiction has grown beyond soaps... to scrubs, body butters, lip balms, salves, and much more! Body care can be simple, honest, and natural while still being FUN! We enjoy making fresh products every day, and believe that simple, skin-nourishing ingredients are best. We use lots of shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil, beeswax and tallow in our products. Stepping back from social mediaā¦.a little.
Not because I donāt care about my business, but because I care more about myself.
Does that sound selfish? Itās not.
Coming up with content to post every single day of your life is exhausting. It can be very taxing on the mental health and wellbeing of small businesses owners. We are not content creators by nature, we are artists and makers, many of us are very creative and our passion is working with our hands, not being in front of a screen. This is an extra job thatās been put on us, and not everyone enjoys being āonā Every. Freaking. Day. Typically people donāt just post on social media then get off the platform immediately- a lot of extra time is spent scrolling, commenting, and engaging as well. Yes- some do love it and want to spend endless amounts of time āconnectingā with followers. But this- this is not true connection IMO.
Itās honestly pretty empty, thankless, and frustrating to put the effort in and get two likes on a post. š As Iām getting older- and my kids are getting older- I am realizing that I want less screen time and more balance in my life. More true connections in the real world, more energy for my work, and more clarity. Having social media in my face 24/7 doesnāt give me any of that.
So yes, I am still here running and growing my business. Yes, I am working. Yes, I am sending out emails newsletters. Yes, my business is legit even if Iām not posting ālike i should be.ā I may pop on once a week, but then again maybe I wonāt. Wild June will still be here. Our website is up. Orders are being filled, probably with more love and attention, because I wonāt be mentally drained from my phone. Life is short and life is sweet, so spend time doing things that are REAL.

Iām a little late on this, but this week is small businesses week, although my take on it might be a little cynical- like thereās not much worth celebrating. Sales are down. Across the board. For everyone.
Lately it feels like every week another small business announces theyāre closing their doors.
Most people donāt realize how hard many small businesses are fighting just to stay afloat right now. Rising costs, slower sales, algorithm changes, shipping increases, burnout ā it all adds up quickly. And itās so sad to see giants like Amazon and Walmart taking over the market.
This year I cancelled our Amazon prime account and havenāt looked back. This week I have officially boycotted Walmart due to yet another terrible customer service experience, and will not be stepping foot in one ever again. My shopping has become more intentional, and spending has been cut in half. Why? Because I no longer hit the buy now button. I make a list of what we want/need, and later on if I still feel like we need that item in our lives, I seek it out either via a small businesses online or by shopping locally and small when possible and feasible. Do I pay more and is it more time consuming? Probably and definitely. But I am doing my part to keep the little man alive, and so should you. Before itās too late and all we have left are the big box stores. š¢
If you have a favorite small business, now is a good time to support them. A purchase, share, comment, review, or recommendation truly matters more than people realize. š¤
