First looks of what I created with the team in LA the past couple of days. We covered trending summer colors and my interpretation of them, but most importantly, highlighted formulation and product knowledge to help any colorist perform the job from beginning to end with success.

Working with to not only bring exciting content to stylists everywhere, but also give thorough education has been a dream of mine and we are doing it👏

Huge thank you to the brains behind the scenes making it all happen-cicc

Results from yesterday’s class collab! I prepped my gorgeous model .witch27 with my signature soft blocking foil technique with 9+ and 20 volume lotion. I had the class attendees select the color palette and mix up their custom tones using - I demonstrated a few sections using color melting and over direction, then handed the reigns over to the attendees to finish the entire look. Collaboration is such a beautiful thing. Thankful to have had such a fun day with the fine folks over at 🫶

Hello all,

My name is Caitlin Tyczka and I am putting together this fundraiser for my friend and coworker Vik Voss.

This fundraiser is to cover the medical costs for their affirming surgery.

If you aren’t familiar with what top surgery is, it is a gender-affirming surgical procedure that involves surgery to the chest, and requires up to 12 weeks of recovery.

For those not familiar with this process (and that is ok!) here’s a breakdown of the significance of what it does for a persons health.

Top surgery allows someone to physically align their chest with their gender identity, leading to improved quality of life, body image satisfaction, and overall well-being; essentially, it helps them feel more comfortable and congruent with themselves.

Vik is someone that has given their all to the people that surround them. I feel as if it’s time to rally and give it all back.

I thank you in advance for your support and willingness to donate anything, even in its smallest measure. Even something so small as a share! It all matters and it’s all significant, and I am grateful for everyone’s participation in this glorious project of honoring and helping someone so special.

To all clients, friends and supporters that participate through donation to this fundraiser, you will automatically be entered into a giveaway for a $300 gift card to our shop Homegrown Hair Co. Any funds leftover after Viks surgery and recovery will be donated to a LGBTQIA+ charity.

Stay tuned as myself and the team are organizing a haircut drive/ anniversary party/ raffle bananza coming late spring to further our fundraising goals and to give back to everyone that helps us meet our goals!

On behalf of myself, Vik, and the Homegrown team we are thankful for all that you do to support!

I had an abortion when I was 17 years old. It saved my life. You wouldn’t know me today if I didn’t have the right to that procedure.

Some insights I’ve come to realize recently—and thought I’d share.

Creative people are constantly producing, even outside of their work, and that energy doesn’t always make it to the social media big screen. I used to feel a lot of pressure to show up here consistently, but over the past five years, I’ve learned some valuable lessons:

• Taking breaks hasn’t held me back from anything.
• Choosing quality over quantity is a way of life.
• Posting and ghosting is perfectly okay.
• Honoring what I need in the moment allows me to thrive personally and professionally.

There are people who need to recharge by nurturing different parts of their mind to feel truly balanced—and I know I’m not alone in this. It’s taken me 13 years in this industry to fully appreciate the value of taking time to read, draw, walk, cook, and simply take care of myself. And the impact on my work? It’s been nothing short of truly evolving and showing up better for it.

There’s a certain undeniable beauty in responding to life with what makes sense for you, and not how you are influenced to feel you should be showing up to it.

So don’t be afraid to put the phone down now and then. If you’re looking for permission, here it is. ♥️

XO,
CT

was such an incredible event and was the beginning of the start to my 34th human year celebration! Couldn’t think of a better way to kick it off than this fabulous event with my family.

My concept for this model was based on a simple placement technique that I’ve taught at many classes but creates high impact and creative results. I used all for the color melt- a custom mix of formula 1.) 1/2 5-7 & 1/2 7-77 into formula 2.) 1/2 7-77 & 1/2 9-7 into formula 3.) 8-19, transitioning back to formula 2 and ending with formula 1 on the ends.

What vibe does this read to you?
