We are out to change the hair salon experience in Houston. Just a simple goal really! You will leave being YOUR BEST BOLD SELF!
Our home is a place where fashion is alive, the music has a great beat, and there are plenty of smiles to go around.
FRAGRANCE - sounds like a normal ingredient you would find in beauty products right? 🤷🏻♀️
The problem with this ingredient is that it can mean SO MANY different things. (Over 5,000 ingredients are being used now and put under the "fragrance" label). AND they aren't all good. 😔
The major concern with this ingredient is that it is not required by law to disclose the individual ingredients used to produce it.
The FDA does not have the same legal authority that is required for food labeling for cosmetics!
Well, that's not very helpful is it? 🤔
According to the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), fragrance is the biggest cause of cosmetic contact dermatitis.
Many of the stylist I have worked with over the years have suffered from this particular skin condition. 😔
This is probably the #1 ingredient that I see whenever I am researching products that can be an issue. Especially if the product label doesn't disclose exactly what they used for the "fragrance".

Earlier this week, I shared the new color line () I decided to carry to lower the toxic and chemical load for my clients and myself! 💕 I also wanted to break down some of the common ingredients found in personal care products that can be harmful. 👎

I began researching ingredients more in depth when I started to figure out my own personal health struggles over the last 5 years. My health issues primarily consist of gut and skin issues. 😭 Sounds like two simple things, but after more research and finding amazing drs and nutritionists, I realized it was SO MUCH more than that!

That is what began my journey into lowering my toxic load. In very simple terms, my body was so overloaded that I couldn't digest my food and I got a nice big fat case of Rosacea on my cheeks. I have always been very aware of food choices, but there is so much more to it! I am excited to share what I have found and help my clients and anyone else following to make the best, safest, and most informed choices for their personal care products! ♻️🌱
