Clients & friends,
As most of you already know because I canāt stop talking about it at the salon (š) me and my partner Mikey are quickly approaching our wedding day!
Weāre so excited to spend this time celebrating finding one another with our friends and family, and I wanted to remind clients that will be booking for spring and summer that I will be out of the salon for two weeks to give ourselves plenty of time to prepare and enjoy our special day.
I will be out of the salon and not be available to answer any hair or makeup related questions & inquiries from MAY 24th until JUNE 7th.
Let me know if I can get something scheduled for you before then!
Thanks always,
S

Clients & friends,
I have some studio updates to share with you all!
As of April 11th, ChopShop is allowing fully vaccinated clients the choice to remove their mask once they are in studio.
I will continue to wear my mask for my own comfort, but I am so excited to resume beard trims and detailing!
In addition to the mask rules changing, so is my cancellation policy. Through the pandemic, I paused cancellation fees for clients. I try to be really understanding with schedule changes, specifically for my clients with varying schedules/child care, etc.
With that being said I will be enforcing a cancellation policy to ensure I optimize my time spent in the salon seeing clients and not saving spots for those who arenāt able to show up.
If you no-show your appointment, or have to reschedule and havenāt given at least 24 hour notice, I will require 25% of the scheduled service total.
I can always move your scheduled appointments with enough advance notice, so please be courteous and try to let me know as soon as you upon learning your schedule has changed. š¤
Thanks for being so patient and diligent with your mask wearing, I appreciate you all and canāt wait to see your smiles again!
Hereās a fun video I took of a big switch up on Alex Marshall the other day.

Clients & friends:
Missouri is currently one of the nations hotspots for the Delta COVID variant.
In June, I had allowed my vaccinated clients to remove their masks for their services, but I will be asking that my clients continue to wear them to their appointments at the recommendation of Salon Lofts and the CDC.
Additionally, after much consideration and conversation with my clients and other stylists, I have also decided I will now require proof of vaccination among my clients beginning August 1st.
I want to be clear when I say the requirement of vaccines isnāt meant to be a political divide.
It is about a social responsibility to protect others outside of ourselves, and honestly about respect for me, my studio, and the rest of my clientele.
Letās answer some questions:
āYouāre vaccinated, why should I have to be if you trust the vaccine so much?ā
-
I do trust my vaccine to do what itās meant to do.
Iāve trusted nurses, doctors and science to understand I can be an integral part of the solution rather than someone perpetuating this problem.
With my vaccine statistically performing well over a 90% efficacy rate, I know my odds of being hospitalized due to covid are less than 10%, which allows me to work in my space with confidence and excitement each day.
āI had my first shot but I havenāt had my second. (Or) I havenāt gotten it yet but I want to and have it scheduled on ___ day!ā
-
Clients who are partially vaccinated with a a second scheduled or those working to obtain a vaccine with a scheduled appointment date will be allowed to keep all scheduled appointments.
āMy daddy/hubby, (who I get my health insurance through) told me that this is a flu people need a week or two weeks to get over. I canāt trust the government! People get the flu all the time, so why do you care?ā
-
Time for a massive privilege check!
I want you to answer these honestly, and then think if the same answer is true for me and my clients:
Do you have built in paid time off and sick leave through your employer?
Do you have private health insurance through your employer or partner, or
are you one of the over 25 million Americans who canāt afford private health insurance, and therefore canāt afford a long hospital stay?
Did you know small business owners have to pay for the space and they work out of, whether they are able to work out of it or not?
Does your job operate on an appointment based basis, where sick clients, or their sick children, mean cancelled appointments, or are you in a salary roll- unaffected by current events?
Were you unemployed during the first round of lockdown?
How did that effect your mental health?
Do you have any better ideas on how you could thank and protect nurses, service workers, and teachers for their work besides practicing acts of love through protection, rooted in sciene and facts?
Can you emotionally and financially afford a two week stay on a ventilator, assuming you will be able to find one in your city and town?
Do you have clients and friends that are nurses, social workers and volunteers, or teachers?
These people groups spend the most time with the immunocompromised, the homeless, and the children we as a society need to be thinking about before making the decision to skip out on modern medicine. If your favorite wacky politician, holistic medicine Instagram page, or local hippie has you fooled into thinking this can be willed away through bravery or denial.
Letās say you answered all of these questions and still donāt understand, even while knowing my answers to these questions would give you a very sad, opposite answer:
I can do my best to recommend you to another salon. I will do what I can to ensure you have notes or formulas I used with you in my space before wishing you well in your hair journey.
I will absolutely only recommend vaccinated stylists, as unvaccinated stylists are someone I couldnāt recommend you to with confidence about their care for your hair or your health.
If you have any questions regarding vaccination questions or need help rescheduling or cancelling your upcoming appointments, please feel free to reach out.
