To our devoted NOTCH clients and friends: we appreciate your support over the years and while we had to make the heartbreaking decision to close the salon, we wanted to let you know before we shut down this page that a hearty handful of our stylists have taken root at our sibling salon KINK in Clayton!

For 7 lucky years, we have served The Grove STL. We love this neighborhood and everyone who supports it. We are proud of this community and the relationships we've built over the years. This will never change. However, it is with a heavy heart we announce that Notch will not be reopening.

We made it our mission as a team to provide a safe and judgement free space for our guests, not to mention a kick ass color and cut. We might have to change the address of where we do it, but we will continue that mission wherever we are. The staff of Notch is a family, and the spirit of our family will stay with us wherever we go.❤️

We want to give the team their own opportunities to tell you where the next chapter of their salon life will begin. Please refer to their personal social media for that update. Your stylists and barbers will be in touch soon with next steps.

As for the current space at 4187 Manchester, it will be occupied by fellow grove stylist Erin Mohr at Chop Shop. She will be continuing her own salon dream where many of us started ours, and we wish her continued success.

Let's face it, those of us who color our hair are going to have some regrowth and/or fading while on Stay at Home orders. Healthy regrowth some chill time isn't a bad thing! It gives our hair a chance to rest and reset. 😍

UPDATE 4/16/20: St. Louis City and County have extended the Stay-at-Home orders indefinitely with re-evaluation to take place in mid-May. If you have an appointment on the books for this time period, your stylist or someone from our salon will contact you to cancel or reschedule. Thank you for doing your part to keep our community healthy!

3/21/20: Due to St. Louis City and County enacting Stay at Home orders to prevent the spread of COVID-19, KINK and NOTCH salons will be closed as of 5:00 pm today.

While this is distressing to our clients, stylists and business, we want to support our hospitals, emergency response personnel, and our public health officials in helping to stem the spread of the virus. We encourage you all to abide by CDC guidelines and the Stay at Home order and hope we will be able to reopen quickly to serve our clients.

If you have an appointment on the books for the next 30 days, your stylist or someone from our salon will contact you to cancel or reschedule. As we do not know when we will reopen, we thank you in advance for your flexibility in the unknown landscape.

In the meantime, as long as our distributors remain open, you can order KEVIN.MURPHY or Bumble and bumble products online to support our stylists. See this post below this one for more details.

But seriously, our KINK and NOTCH salons are open and we are taking a common sense approach to the current COVID-19 news as well as taking the threat seriously.
We want you to know and to trust that we are taking great precautions in our personal and work environments to keep ourselves, surfaces and our environments healthy, clean and safe. We disinfected our salon(s) and continue to exercise proper sanitation practices each and every day.
We welcome customers and if a spritz of hand sanitizer or additional hand-washing will help you and your immune system feel more comfortable, please speak up! We're here to help.

✂️ HAIR MODELS NEEDED! ✂️ Volunteer your time (and hair) and get a free cut!
On Sunday, March 22nd, 1:00 - 4:00 pm, at our sister salon KINK Hair in Clayton, representatives from Cult + King will be hosting a razor cutting class for our KINK and NOTCH stylists. Models should preferably have some natural texture, medium coarse hair at a length that would allow (and you to be open to) adopting a razor cut s**g style.
