Muscle isn’t just important for getting stronger or looking toned.
It matters for fat loss.
Muscle allows you to handle carbohydrates better. It soaks up glucose and stores it as glycogen.
It improves insulin sensitivity.
You’re less likely to store those carbs as fat - (please note It doesn’t make you immune to fat gain in a calorie surplus.)
So get in the gym and increase the size of your sponges.

Here’s what they’re missing: a calorie deficit isn’t a number. It’s a relationship between what you eat and what your body actually burns — and that number is different for every woman.
If your NEAT is low, your muscle mass is low, and your activity is low, your maintenance calories might be 1,700. That means 1,400 IS a real deficit.
The goal isn’t to eat more. The goal is to build a body that burns more — so your deficit can be higher without restriction being the only tool you have.
That’s what training, protein, and progressive overload actually do. They raise the ceiling. They don’t just change the number on the scale.
