You’re Not Alone — And It’s Probably Not What You Think

Yesterday I had 9 scans. Half of them came in for the same thing. Breast tenderness. And I saw the same fear on every single face.

I know that fear. Because 17 years ago, I felt it myself.

When I noticed tenderness in my own breast, my mind went straight to the worst. That fear is actually what led me to my very first Thermography scan, and what we found was a superficial area of dense breast tissue. Something that still gets tender to this day. Now instead of fear, I just recognize it for what it is.

That moment is a big part of why I do this work.

Here’s what I want you to know. Breast tenderness is one of the most common concerns I see, and in the vast majority of cases, it has a completely benign explanation. That doesn’t mean dismiss it, please don’t. It means come in, get answers, and stop letting fear fill in the blanks.

The most common causes I find are:

⭐ Hormonal fluctuations — shifts in estrogen, progesterone, and prolactin throughout your cycle are the number one driver of breast tenderness

⭐ Dense breast tissue — certain areas can become cyclically tender and are a completely normal finding

⭐ Fibrocystic changes — benign, very common, and often the culprit

⭐ Stress — studies confirm it can directly worsen breast pain

⭐ Certain medications — birth control, hormone therapy, and even some antidepressants can trigger tenderness

⭐ Muscle strain — the chest wall muscles sit directly behind breast tissue, so soreness from working out, lifting, or even carrying a heavy bag can easily feel like breast tenderness

⭐ Structural causes — a poor fitting bra, rib inflammation, or referred muscle pain that shows up in the breast

This is exactly where Thermography shines. Unlike other imaging, Thermography can detect lymphatic congestion, hormonal imbalances, areas of inflammation, and circulatory changes in the breast tissue. It gives us a functional picture of why the tenderness is happening, not just that it’s there. It helps us get to the root cause so you’re not left with unanswered questions or unnecessary fear.

Your body is talking to you. Let’s find out what it’s actually saying, not what fear tells you it’s saying.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but your most supportive relationship might actually be hurting you. You know that moment when your favorite underwire bra, the one you’ve had for years, the one that fits perfectly, finally sends a rogue wire straight up into your armpit? Yeah. We need to talk about that bra. Here’s what’s interesting. That wire isn’t just uncomfortable when it escapes. Even when it’s behaving itself it’s been compressing your lymphatic pathways all day long. Your lymphatic system is responsible for clearing toxins and waste from your breast tissue and it does its best work when it can actually move freely. Underwire makes that really hard. And before anyone brings up gravity, nobody is winning that fight and I am not even going to try. But wireless bras today are actually incredible. The girls can still look great and feel supported without a single wire trying to escape into your armpit. And at home? Free them completely. Fully. Unapologetically. Your lymphatic system will thank you and honestly so will your armpits. Think of it as happy hour for your b***s.

Happy Mother’s Day to every single mom out there. Today is your day.
I am so grateful for everyone who took the time to share their stories with me this week. My phone, my messages and my heart were truly full. So many of you reached out privately and the stories I read moved me more than you know. Choosing just one was not easy and every single nomination was deserving.
This year’s free breast thermography scan goes to Kristen Reeves Sixberry, nominated by her mom and her sister. Kristen’s story stopped me in my tracks. It is one of strength, sacrifice and resilience and she is exactly the kind of woman this was meant for.
Kristen, please reach out to me directly to schedule your scan. You deserve this.
To everyone who nominated someone, thank you for trusting me with your stories. It reminded me exactly why I do what I do.

This Mother’s Day I am looking for one deserving mom to gift a completely free breast thermography scan. No catch. Just my way of giving back.
Being a mom myself, I know how it goes. We put everyone else first, always. The kids, the appointments, the million things on the list and somewhere in there we forget about ourselves. And I know there are moms out there who truly need something like this but would never spend the money on themselves.
If you know a mom who deserves this, someone who pours everything into everyone around her and never stops to pour into herself, leave her story in the comments, send me a private message, or text me directly at 772-888-5533. Either way I will read every single one and choose from my heart.
If you don’t already follow this page, make sure you do so you don’t miss the announcement Mother’s Day morning.
Nominations close Saturday. Winner announced Mother’s Day morning May 11.

Another Ascend retreat in the books and this one in Chicago was so good. From time at Cloud Gate to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field, great food, a pizza making class, graffiti art where we made our own pieces, improv sessions that pushed us a little outside our comfort zones, and a mob themed night at a classic Chicago steakhouse. But what really makes these weekends is the people. This group brings together some of the most thoughtful, next level chiropractors along with such a great group of spouses and significant others. It shows in the conversations, the growth, and the way everyone shows up. Always grateful for the energy every time we get together. We look forward to it every six months and it just keeps getting better. Miss you all already. Special thanks to Stephanie for putting it all together epic style and her trophy husband. Brad for continuing to move this amazing group of chiropractors forward. And Jared, our education doc, who has never once held back a question.

April is National Stress Awareness Month—a time to recognize not only how stress feels, but how it impacts the body.

While stress is often thought of as emotional or mental, it also creates very real physical changes. Chronic stress can affect the nervous system, disrupt hormone balance, alter circulation, and contribute to inflammation throughout the body.

You may notice it as headaches, tension, fatigue, poor sleep, or digestive issues… but often, these changes begin long before symptoms fully show up.

This is where thermography can offer valuable insight.

Thermography looks at physiological patterns—helping to detect areas of inflammation, vascular changes, and nervous system stress responses. It provides a deeper look at how your body is functioning, not just structurally, but functionally.

During Stress Awareness Month, it’s also a great time to focus on simple, supportive habits:
• Prioritizing sleep
• Gentle movement or exercise
• Mindful breathing
• Creating space to reset your nervous system

Small changes can make a big impact over time.

In honor of Stress Awareness Month, Treasure Coast Thermogrpahy is offering $25 off thermography scans this month.

If you’ve been feeling “off” or just want a better understanding of what’s going on beneath the surface, this is a great place to start.

Do you feel like your hormones are out of balance?

This is what hormonal imbalance can look like beneath the surface.

Hormones don’t just affect how you feel… they influence circulation, inflammation, and the way your nervous system responds in the body.

In thermography, we often see these imbalances show up as asymmetric heat patterns, increased vascular activity, or areas of congestion—especially in the breast, thyroid, and abdominal regions.

These patterns can be associated with things like estrogen dominance, low progesterone, poor detox pathways, or chronic stress impacting cortisol rhythms.

Thermography gives us an early look at these physiological changes—often before structural changes occur.

From here, we can take the next step.

When appropriate, we may recommend functional testing—such as DUTCH hormone testing—or other labs to better understand what’s driving these patterns.

Based on those findings, we help guide you toward the right next steps, whether that’s lifestyle support, targeted therapies, or referral to a provider who specializes in hormone treatment.

This is where thermography becomes more than just a scan.
It becomes insight.

How Thermography Visualizes Breast Cancer Risk Factors in Preventive Care - The Thermogram Center, Inc. 03/19/2026

I came across a really great article and wanted to share it here because it explains thermography in a way that’s easy to understand.

Thermography isn’t looking for disease. It’s looking at function—heat patterns, inflammation, and vascular activity in the body.

These changes can show up long before anything structural is detected, which is why it’s such a powerful tool for prevention and early awareness.

If you’ve ever wondered how thermography actually works and what it can reveal, this is definitely worth the read.

Can you spot the tumor?

Breast density can make tumors harder to see on mammograms. In fact, nearly 50% of women have dense breast tissue, which can make abnormalities more difficult to detect.

Mammography is a structural imaging tool. It looks at the physical anatomy of the breast and identifies masses, calcifications, and structural changes in the tissue.

However, dense breast tissue and tumors often appear similar (white) on a mammogram, which can sometimes make abnormalities more difficult to distinguish.

Thermography evaluates the breast differently. Rather than looking at structure, it looks at physiology by measuring heat patterns and vascular activity.

Changes in circulation, inflammation, or metabolic activity in breast tissue can sometimes appear as thermal patterns before structural changes become visible on imaging.

Understanding breast density and the different tools available for monitoring breast health can help women make more informed decisions about their screening and care.

Have you ever had a thermography scan before? I’m always happy to answer questions.
