Part 3- Here are some reasons It’s Important to Talk to Your Kids About Boundaries and Speaking Up About Sexual Abuse: 1. Prevents abuse early
Kids who understand boundaries are more likely to recognize when something is wrong and avoid unsafe situations.
2. Gives them the confidence to speak up
When you normalize these conversations, kids feel safer telling you if something happens.
3. Helps them understand their body is theirs
They learn they have control over who can touch them and how, no matter who the person is.
4. Reduces shame and secrecy
Open conversations remove the fear or embarrassment that often keeps kids silent about abuse.
5. Builds lifelong self-advocacy skills
They learn how to say “no,” set limits, and protect themselves in all relationships as they grow.
