Why water is important to us and how it is properly absorbed into our systems.
It has been historically known dehydration is a major contributing factor to strokes and heart attacks due to lack of water. Americans drink a lot of soft drinks and other beverages that are harmful as well as weight producing. Including the so called 'diet' drinks when they would benefit much more if the beverage of choice was water.
According to the Water Information Program out of Colorado the human body is more than 60% water. Blood is 9% water, the brain and muscles are 75% water, and bones are about 22% water. Not Tea, soda, or other liquid beverages.
The following statistics show how vital our thinking needs to change where water consumptions concerned considering about 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak it's often mistaken for hunger. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.
One glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of dieters studied in the University of Washington study.
Lack of water, is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water daily could significantly ease back and joint pain of up to 89% of the suffers. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer 79
% one in 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.
But there is a proper way to drink water that will not flood our bladder and re-hydrate our system.
Drink 4 oz of filtered water (not tap) about every 15 minutes. That is about 1-2 good mouthfuls and up to half your bodies weight in oz daily. It may be a process of some but it is important if you want to increase your health.
So the answer to most of our health problems is 'WHERE'S THE WATER. Drink more water.

The father of modern medicine, Hippocrates, once said, "All disease begins in the gut." That statement couldn't be truer today. Scientists refer to the gut as the body's 'second brain' as more that half of the body's nerve cells are located in the gut. Further more, approximately 70 percent of the immune system is located in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, protecting the body from viruses and bacteria. Virus, bacteria, parasites, fungus invasion cause most of our health problems. The compromised auto immune system is not strong enough to fight off these invaders due to our diet, lifestyles and other contributing factors. Addressing these are the real issues for health care reform.
Most of the people who contact us have health issues that are rooted in the digestive system, ie. gut. (We will discuss this at a later date).
Eating processed foods, lack of water intake, not getting enough exercise and coping with stress are some factors leading to the population's GI issues.
Making necessary changes to your diet is the first step. Eliminate all foods now to be inflammatory causing from diet such as sugar, wheat, corn, cow dairy, night shade vegetables, alcohol and caffeine. Remove all chemical additives from diet such as foods containing high fructose corn syrup, trans fats, artificial sweeteners, artificial coloring and dye and monosodium glutemate (MSG). Avoid all processed and refined foods. Increase the consumption of anti-inflammatory foods such as salmon, walnuts, olive oil, avocados and dark green vegetables and drink plenty of water each day to keep the body hydrated and facilitate te bowel's ability to detoxify the putrid substances.
