This is a big one! ✨
We’re thrilled to welcome Alicia Grande, founder and Chief Visionary Officer of Grande Cosmetics, to our summer Industry Night panel.
If you’ve ever used GrandeLASH-MD (or know someone who has), you already know the impact Alicia has had on the beauty industry. What started as a single product grew into one of the most recognizable beauty brands on the market, with GrandeLASH-MD remaining a bestseller for more than 18 years.
On July 20, Alicia will join us for Building a Brand That Lasts to share insights on growth, longevity, and what it really takes to build a beauty brand with staying power.
Whether you’re a founder, business owner, solo provider, or growing your personal brand, this is the kind of conversation that can change the way you think about your business.
✨ Early bird tickets are just $39 through July 10.
Stay tuned for more powerhouse panelists.

I get a little feisty about a few things:
1. Sunscreen works. I don’t really care which type you use, just use one every day if you are concerned about skin aging, and, of course, skin cancer.
2. Filler phobia is driven by bad work. You probably see tons of good work every day, but you don’t even realize it’s filler. And that is the point!
3. A doctor I once interviewed told me, no one should ever perform a treatment/procedure if they’re not prepared or equipped to handle the AE of said treatment. Do you ask about emergency protocols? You should!
4. Similarly, I think we’ve gotten a little too cavalier about aesthetic medicine. It is still medicine. There are still risks. Living rooms and cocktails don’t mix with medicine, in my opinion.
5. I have no idea how many units I get! I get injected per area and trust my provider knows exactly what I need. If you’re haggling over units because of cost, there’s a good chance you’re not going to be happy with the results.
I could probably make multiple parts for this trend. 🤣
What beauty hills will you die on?

We’re doing it again! ✨
Pretty Local Industry Nights returns this summer — back at the place where it all started: Long Island Nail Skin & Hair Institute in Bethpage.
This time, we’re bringing together an exciting panel of founders and representatives from recognizable beauty and wellness brands for a conversation on what it really takes to build a brand that lasts in today’s industry — from scale and sustainability to long-term staying power.
Whether you’re launching your own company, growing an existing business, or building a personal brand as a beauty or wellness professional, this conversation is designed to leave you inspired, informed, and thinking bigger. (Maybe even “Grande” 😉)
✨ Early bird tickets are available now for $39 through Wednesday, June 10th

One thing about June nails? They’re going to be fun.
Some weeks, I look at my saved nail pics and the trend is obvious. Other weeks, like this one, there is no clear trend — there’s a little bit of everything: playful florals, graphic black and white, bright pops of color, polka dots, and classic French with a twist.
So maybe the trend is whatever you love 💅

As a beauty editor, trying different providers and treatments has literally been part of my job for more than 20 years. I can’t properly write about a laser, injectable technique, facial, or hair service if I haven’t experienced it myself.
That said, there’s a difference between testing treatments for work and chasing random trends.
I have my “home base” providers—the people I trust and return to again and again. But I also cherry-pick based on expertise. I might love one person for Botox, another for filler, another for lasers, another for hair color.
For most people, though, the best results come from finding providers you trust who understand your goals and can help you build a long-term plan whether that’s for skin, hair, body work.

Almost 2 years after nanoblading…
And they mostly just faded back to sparse. No weird gray tones, no patchiness, no skin trauma, which was my fear after seeing microblading horror stories on social media.
Here is what they look like before I finally go back for a touch-up with .
Have you had nano blading done? How long before you got a touch-up
