HAPPY BIRTHDAY to ME!
At 54, here is what I do every day to feel and look great! It’s not about looking younger, it’s about tapping into our inner wisdom to cultivate and maintain a positive outlook on aging. Feeling good in my body allows me to show up each day, and maintain balanced energy throughout the day.

1. STRENGTH TRAIN: Resistance and Strength training can be a strong power yoga class or lifting weights. I do this consistently 3X per week. Protects hormonal health, supports estrogen and progesterone balance, maintains and boosts testosterone (for mood, libido, and lean mass), lowers cortisol, improves insulin sensitivity.
2. YOGA & MEDITATION: This is practice has been my anchor for 23 years. Since becoming a yoga teacher, II am more in tune with what specific practice and poses my body needs, depending on the day.
3. MOVEMENT: I walk every single day. Getting in my steps improves my mood, reduces stress, lowers cortisol. Movement is NOT a workout, but is essential medicine for my body to keep my mind right, my joints healthy, and my mood balanced. Also enjoying outdoor time in nature is beneficial in regulating my nervous system. Cardio burn calories and improves heart health but does not trigger the same hormonal response as #1, so it’s wrong to focus solely on cardio. I also like rebounding. 10 minutes on the rebounder is equivalent to a much longer run! Try it!

4. SLEEP: I have dialed in my sleep, with smart supplements ( Magnesium Bio-optimizers, L-theanine) and natural hormone adjustments. I use essential oils like DoTERRA Serenity blend in the diffuser and some topical Lavender as I drift off. I sleep in a cold room, and often listen to delta waves audio to promote deeper sleep. Consistent sleep schedule is also key, even on the weekends; with a goal of 8 to 9 hours.

How adapted COLD PLUNGING can benefit women in PERI-MENOPAUSE:

Colder is not better: I used to plunge for 3 minutes at 33 but that has evolved for me as I approach menopause. Now I tend to plunge in around 50 to 55 degree tub and maintain short bursts of plunging; a few plunges at 30 seconds to 1 minute each. Because women vaso-constrict faster than men, ice-cold temperatures can spike stress hormones. Experts recommend keeping water at a manageable 55°F (13°C) to 60°F (15.5°C) and I suggest limiting each immersion to 1 minute. You can build up to 1 minute and stay in slightly longer as tolerated. Opting for "cool" rather than "ice-cold" water achieves the endorphin release without the hormonal disruption.

Mood & Stress Regulation: Immersion stimulates the release of norepinephrine and dopamine, which can alleviate the low mood, irritability, and anxiety commonly experienced during hormonal shifts.

Hot Flash Relief: By challenging your autonomic nervous system, cold exposure can improve thermoregulation, leading to fewer and less severe hot flashes. I personally do not experience any hot flashes, and it has dramatically improved my ‘warm flushes’ to almost non-existent.

Still Cycling? As your period approaches, the vasoconstrictive effect of cold water can exacerbate cramping; it is usually best to lean toward heat therapy instead. Lay off the cold plunge and hit the sauna instead. Short burst in cold shower is beneficial, without over-icing the uterus. Keep the uterus warm instead, and resume cold plunging during follicular phase.

I have created a healing sanctuary; I invite women for a 1:1 coaching + healing session or to attend one of my upcoming wellness days.
I use these at least 2 - 3 times per week for my workout recovery, especially.

How these three modalities synergistically create a powerful healthy-aging recovery ritual for women 40+:

✨ Red Light for cellular health and skin support, aids muscle recovery and reduces inflammation
✨ Vibration Plate for strength, balance, and stability, improves bone health and maintains bone density, supports circulation and lymphatic flow.
✨ Compression Therapy for recovery, circulation, and lymphatic support

These modalities take about 30 minutes total, have virtually no side effects, feel good and can be done while meditating, listening to podcast or simply relaxing. How are you fitting wellness recovery into your weekly routine?

For a private session in my healing space, send me a DM.

Feel Younger with Red Light Therapy (PhotoBioModulation):

I help women feel beautiful inside and out. While topical skincare and cosmetics has been my career and passion for 20+ years, I believe that beauty actually comes from within. When you feel good on the inside, that radiates externally.
For the last 6 years, I have been using Red Light Therapy and now have in my home.

🆘 Initially I used it to accelerate healing of my broken foot.🦶Twice!

🔥 Beauty Benefits of RLT:

🔺Cell Turnover:

Boosts cell turnover by stimulating the production of new cells and promoting elastin, a protein responsible for the skin's elasticity. Increased cell turnover can help your skin be more elastic, firmer, and evens out skin tone.

🔺Boosts Collagen:
Collagen is an abundant protein we have that helps build muscle, connects tissue, and improves skin health. The amount of collagen we produce starts to slowly decrease past the age of 20 each year, which makes our skin less elastic, and more fragile, and prone to damage from injuries.
This is where RLT comes in. Research shows that RLT stimulates collagen production in the skin and reduces symptoms of aging.
🔻Reduce Oxidative Stress:
When we are stressed out, we don’t look or feel attractive. We As you age, your skin is exposed to the effects of mental stress, as well as physical stress such as exposure to sunlight, chemicals, etc. RLT can help increase the production of antioxidants, resulting in healthier, more resilient skin:
* It’s non-invasive & natural
* Has positive (rather than negative) side effects
* Cost-effective over a long period of time
* Doesn’t appear artificial like many other treatments
