Contemporary Watercolorists of Arizona began in 1969, formed by instructors
and professional artists who sought to advance the use of water media
through monthly discussions and sharing of their work. New approaches to painting and applications of new water media are discussed each month while reviewing the monthly "Challenge" painting.

Many awards were presented at our monthly meeting ranging from Best of Show, Awards of Excellence, and Merit Awards from our Spring Art Exhibition now on display through March 9th at Gallery on the Way in Scottsdale, AZ. Not all awards winners were present this evening, so please enjoy this sampling of artists.

The motivation for February's critique was to paint an ABSTRACT. Many members are known for their abstracts while others, known for a more realistic style, found this challange, well, challenging. Though you'd never guess this by the paintings that were shared!
