and just like that…..

it’s been ten years since I became a licensed Cosmetologist. In some ways it feels like a lifetime, and in others it feels like it’s only been a year.
I am so blessed that this is the path I was led to from a young age. I am often asked, “do you like doing hair?” to which I answer “yes” - but it’s so much more than that.
My career has offered me more confidence than I would have ever imagined. As an introvert by nature, I was always the quiet girl sitting in the corner and observing. I was shy, socially awkward. After a couple years of assisting and working in salons, I grew much more comfortable in chatting with strangers and forming connections with clients. It is now my favorite “why” of my career, and I treasure every relationship I have made. You are all the reason I continue to show up, to further my knowledge, and continue to grow as a stylist (& person.)
I couldn’t imagine spending my days doing anything else, and I’m forever grateful for every person/class/salon/mentor along the way. Cheers to 10 more 🍻
