Tomorrow night I leave for CLE. Wednesday morning I’ll be getting my Lumbar Puncture(Spinal Tap) re done. The same procedure that caused a week long spinal fluid leak that had me essentially paralyzed. The procedure that caused my chronic illness to increase. The procedure that cost me my job, clients, and friends. The procedure that left me with severe PTSD.
I am thankful they agreed to do the procedure with anesthesia..but.. the scary part is, because I have a connective tissue disorder, my body doesn’t heal correctly, and I have to be more cautious.
What I am afraid of, is going to stand up again after being layed down for a few hours, and feeling that pain come rushing back. And when I say terrified, I mean every time it pops back in my head I start crying.
I’m so scared. I’m genuinely so scared.
But.
I am hoping, that once this is done, I can have a better handle on these illness and life.
I’m sorry if my chaos has affected any of you, I promise I am working to be better someday. I promised my dad, my grandma, my mom, and my sister, I’ll never give up. I could just use a little extra strength sent my way… I’ve heard that your body can remember trauma.. and now I understand it.
